¹I returned and lifted up my eyes, and I saw, and behold, a flying scroll.

²He said to me, What do you see? I said, I see a flying scroll; her length twenty by the cubit, and her breadth ten by the cubit.

³He said to me, This is the oath that goes forth over the face of all the land; for all that steals is left unpunished from like it, and all that swears is left unpunished from like it.

⁴I brought it out, the utterance of Yahweh of hosts, and it will come to the house of the thief and to the house of that swears in my name to the falsehood; and it will lodge in the middle of his house and complete it, with his wood and his stone.

⁵The messenger that speaks in me went forth, and he said to me, Lift up your eyes and see what this is that goes forth.

⁶I said, What is she? He said, This is the ephah that goes forth; and he said, This is their eye in all the land.

⁷And behold, a talent of lead lifted up, and one woman dwelled in the middle of the ephah.

⁸He said, This is the wickedness; and he threw it into the middle of the ephah, and threw the stone of lead to her mouth.

⁹I lifted up my eyes, and I saw, and behold, two women went forth, and wind was in their wings; and they had wings like the wings of the stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the land and the skies.

¹⁰I said to the messenger that speaks in me, Where do they go with the ephah?

¹¹He said to me, To build a house for it in the land of Shinar; and it will be established there and will be settled over her base.
