I lifted up my eyes, and I saw, and behold, a man, and in his hand the rope of size.
And I said: Where do you go? And he said to me: To measure Jerusalem, to see as what is her breadth and as what is her length.
And behold, the messenger that speaks in me went forth, and another messenger went forth to encounter him.
And he said to him: Run, speak to this boy, saying: Jerusalem will dwell as open country, from the multitude of man and livestock in her middle.
And I will be to it, the utterance of Yahweh, a wall of fire round about, and for weightiness I will be in her middle.
Flee from the land of the north, the utterance of Yahweh, for as the four winds of the skies I spread you abroad, the utterance of Yahweh.
Oh Zion, escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.
For like this Yahweh of hosts said: After weightiness he sent me to the nations, those who plunder you, for he that touches in you touches in the apple of his eye.
For behold me, I will wave my hand over them, and they will be plunder to their slaves; and you will know that Yahweh of hosts sent me out.
Aloud for joy and rejoice, daughter of Zion, for behold me, I come, and I will dwell in your middle, the utterance of Yahweh.
And great nations will be joined to Yahweh in that day, and they will be to me as a people, and I will dwell in your middle; and you will know that Yahweh of hosts sent me to you.
And Yahweh will inherit Judah as his portion over the holy ground, and will choose Jerusalem again.
Quiet, all flesh, from the face of Yahweh, for he awoke from the dwelling place of his holiness.
