¹Inquire from Yahweh rain in the time of the spring rain; Yahweh made the bright clouds, and he will give the rain of the rain to them, to the man grass in the field.

²For the teraphim spoke iniquity, and those who divine saw falsehood, and they speak the dreams of the vain; idols will comfort over so they set out like a flock, they will be afflicted, for there is no shepherd.

³Over those who shepherd my anger burned, and over the goats I will punish; for Yahweh of hosts punished his arrangement, the house of Judah, and put them as the horses of his authority in the war.

⁴From it the corner, from it the stake, from it the bow of the war, from it will go forth all the rulers together.

⁵And they were as mighty men trampling in the mud of the streets in the war, and they fought, for Yahweh was with them, and those who rode horses were ashamed.

⁶And I will prevail the house of Judah, and the house of Joseph I will save, and I will return them, for I had compassion on them, and they were as I had not cast them away, for I am Yahweh their God, and I answered them.

⁷And Ephraim were as a mighty man, and their heart will rejoice like wine; and their sons will see and rejoice, their heart will rejoice in Yahweh.

⁸I will hiss to them and gather them together, for I redeemed them, and they will multiply like they multiplied.

⁹And I bore them among the peoples, and in the distances they will remember me, and their sons will live and return.

¹⁰And I will return them from the land of Egypt, and from Assyria I will gather them together, and to the land of Gilead and Lebanon I will bring them, and he will not find for them.

¹¹And he will pass through the sea in distress, and strike the waves in the sea, and all the depths of the River will dry up; and the majesty of Assyria will be brought down, and the scepter of Egypt will depart.

¹²And I will prevail them in Yahweh, and in his name they will go, the utterance of Yahweh.
