Brothers, indeed the desire of my heart and the supplication to God on their behalf is for their salvation.
For I bear witness about them that they have zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
For being ignorant of the righteousness of God and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to the righteousness of God.
For the end of law is the Anointed One unto righteousness to everyone who is trusting.
For Moses writes of the righteousness that is of the law that the man having done these things will live by these things.
However the righteousness of trust speaks thus: Do not say in your heart, Who will ascend into the heaven? That is, to bring the Anointed One down;
Or, Who will descend into the abyss? That is, to bring the Anointed One up out from the dead.
But what does it say? Near you is the word, in your mouth and in your heart; that is the word of trust which we proclaim;
For if you shall confess with your mouth the word that Jesus is Lord, and may trust in your heart that God raised Him out from the dead, you will be saved;
For in the heart is belief unto righteousness, and in the mouth is confession unto salvation.
For the Scripture says, Everyone who is trusting on Him will not be put to shame.
For there is no difference between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord of all is rich toward all those who call on Him.
For whoever that may call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.
Then how shall they call on Him whom they have not trusted? And how shall they trust of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear apart from preaching?
And how shall they preach unless they shall be sent? Even as it has been written: How beautiful the feet of those who bring good news about wholeness, of those who bring good news of the good things!
But not all heeded the good news; for Isaiah says, Lord, who has trusted our report?
So the trust is from hearing, and hearing through the word of the Anointed One.
But I ask, did they surely hear? Indeed, their voice has gone out into all the land, and their words to the ends of the world.
But I ask, did Israel not know? First Moses says: I myself will provoke you to jealousy by those not a nation; by a nation without understanding I will anger you.
Then Isaiah is very bold and says: I was found by those not seeking Me; I became manifest by those not inquiring after Me.
However as for Israel he says: All the day I have stretched out my hands to a people disobeying and contradicting.
