Psalms94

God of vengeances, Yahweh, God of vengeances, shine out.

Lift yourself up, judge of the land; bring back their recompense on the arrogant.

How long will the wicked, Yahweh, how long will the wicked exult?

They pour out, they speak arrogance; they boast, all who do wickedness.

Your people, Yahweh, they crush, and your inheritance they afflict.

The widow and the sojourner they kill, and the fatherless they murder.

And they said, Yahweh does not see, and the God of Jacob does not discern.

Discern, you brutish ones among the people; and fools, when will you act wisely?

He who planted the ear, does he not hear? Or he who formed the eye, does he not look?

He who disciplines the nations, does he not reprove, he who teaches man knowledge?

Yahweh knows the thoughts of man, that they are vapor.

Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O Yahweh, and teach from your instruction.

To give him quiet from the days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked.

For Yahweh will not abandon his people, and his inheritance he will not forsake.

For justice will return to righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it.

Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will take his stand for me against those who do wickedness?

Had Yahweh not been a help to me, my being would almost have dwelt in silence.

When I said, My foot has slipped, your loyal love, Yahweh, supported me.

In the multitude of my disquieting thoughts within me, your consolations delight my being.

Will a throne of destruction be joined to you, one that fashions mischief by decree?

They band together against the being of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood as guilty.

But Yahweh has become a stronghold for me, and my God the rock of my refuge.

He brought back on them their wickedness, and in their evil he will put an end to them; Yahweh our God will put an end to them.
