Psalms9

To the choirmaster, on the young women's voices, 'To die for the son,' a psalm of David.

I will give thanks to Yahweh with all my heart; I will recount all your wonders.

I will rejoice and exult in you; I will sing praises to your name, Most High.

When my enemies turn backward, they stumble and perish before your face.

For you have carried out my justice and my case; you sat on the throne, judging righteousness.

You rebuked the nations, you destroyed the wicked; their name you wiped out forever and ever.

The enemy are finished, ruins forever; and the cities you uprooted, their memorial has perished, even they.

And Yahweh dwells forever; he has established his throne for justice.

And he will judge the world in righteousness; he will govern the peoples with evenness.

And may Yahweh be a secure height for the crushed, a secure height in times of distress.

And those who know your name will trust in you, for you have not forsaken those who seek you, Yahweh.

Sing praises to Yahweh, who dwells in Zion; declare his deeds among the peoples.

For the one who seeks bloodshed has remembered them; he has not forgotten the cry of the humble.

Show me favor, Yahweh; see my affliction from those who hate me, O one who raises me up from the gates of death,

so that I may recount all your praises in the gates of the daughter of Zion; I will rejoice in your deliverance.

The nations sank in the pit they made; in the net which they hid, their foot was caught.

Yahweh has made himself known; he has done justice; the wicked is ensnared by the work of his palms. Meditation. Selah.

The wicked will return to Sheol, all the nations that forget God.

For the needy will not be forgotten forever; the hope of the poor will not be lost for ever.

Rise, Yahweh! Let humankind not prevail; let the nations be judged before your face.

Set fear in them, Yahweh; let the nations know that they are human. Selah.
