To the choirmaster, to lilies; a testimony of Asaph, a psalm.
O Shepherd of Israel, give ear, you who lead Joseph like a flock; you who sit on the cherubim, shine out.
Before the face of Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, rouse your might and come for our deliverance.
O God, return us, make your face shine, and we will be saved.
O Yahweh, God of hosts, how long will you smoke against the prayer of your people?
You have fed them bread of tears, and made them drink tears by the threefold measure.
You make us a quarrel to our neighbors, and our enemies mock among themselves.
O God of hosts, return us, make your face shine, and we will be saved.
You pulled up a vine from Egypt; you drove out nations and planted it.
You cleared a place before her; she took root, her roots took hold, and she filled the land.
The mountains were covered by its shade, and the cedars of God by its boughs.
It stretched out its branches to the sea, and its young shoots to the river.
Why have you broken down its walls, so that all who pass along the road pluck it?
The boar from the forest gnaws it away, and whatever moves in the field grazes on it.
O God of hosts, return; look from the heavens and see, and visit this vine.
And the stock that your right hand planted, and upon the son you made strong for yourself.
It is burned with fire, cut off; at the rebuke of your face they perish.
Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, on the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.
Then we will not turn back from you; give us life, and we will call on your name.
O Yahweh, God of hosts, return us; make your face shine, and we will be saved.
