Psalms8

To the choirmaster, on the Gittith, a psalm of David.

Yahweh our lord, how majestic is your name in all the land, you who set your splendor above the skies.

From the mouth of infants and suckling children, you founded strength, for the sake of your opposers, to put an end to the enemy and the avenger.

When I see your skies, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you established,

what is man, that you remember him, and the son of man, that you visit him?

Yet you made him lack only a little of God, and you crowned him with weightiness and splendor.

You have him rule over the works of your hands; everything you have put under his feet:

Flocks and cattle, all of them, and also the animals of the field,

the little birds of the skies and the fish of the sea, whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

Yahweh our lord, how majestic is your name in all the land!
