Psalms63

A psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

God, you are my God; I seek you at dawn; my being thirsts for you, my flesh pines for you, in a land dry and weary, without water.

So I have gazed on you in the holy place, to see your strength and your weightiness.

For your loyal love is better than life; my lips will acclaim you.

So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my palms.

As with fat and richness my being will be satisfied, and with lips of cries of joy my mouth will praise.

When I remember you upon my bed, I murmur of you in the night watches.

For you have been a help to me, and in the shadow of your wings I cry out for joy.

My being clings after you; your right hand holds me up.

But they seek my being for ruin; they will go into the lowest parts of the land.

They will be poured out over the hands of the sword; they will be the portion of foxes.

But the king will rejoice in God; everyone who swears by him will boast, for the mouth of those who speak falsehood will be shut.
