To the choirmaster, with stringed instruments, on the eight-stringed lyre, a psalm of David.
Yahweh, do not reprove me in your anger, and do not discipline me in your wrath.
Show me favor, Yahweh, for I am faint; heal me, Yahweh, for my bones are terrified.
And my being is terrified exceedingly; and you, Yahweh, until when?
Return, Yahweh, rescue my being; save me for the sake of your loyal love.
For there is no remembrance of you in death; in Sheol who will give thanks to you?
I am weary with my groaning; every night I make swim my bed; with my tears I melt my couch.
My eye has wasted away from vexation; it has grown old among all my opposers.
Turn away from me, all who do wickedness, for Yahweh has heard the sound of my weeping.
Yahweh has heard my plea; Yahweh will take my prayer.
Let them be ashamed and terrified exceedingly, all my enemies; let them turn back, let them be ashamed in an instant.
