Psalms59

For the choirmaster: Do not ruin. Of David. An inscription, when Saul sent and they watched the house to put him to death.

Deliver me from my enemies, my God; set me on high from those who rise up against me.

Deliver me from those who do wickedness, and save me from men of bloodshed.

For look, they lie in wait for my being; the fierce stir up strife against me, not for my transgression and not for my sin, Yahweh.

Without my guilt they run and make themselves ready; rouse yourself to meet me, and see.

And you, Yahweh, God of hosts, God of Israel, wake up to visit all the nations; show no favor to any who act treacherously in wickedness. Selah.

They return at evening; they growl like a dog and go about the city.

Look, they pour out with their mouth; swords are on their lips, for who is listening?

But you, Yahweh, laugh at them; you mock all the nations.

His strength, I will watch for you; for God is my stronghold.

The God of my loyal love will meet me; God will let me look on my enemies.

Do not kill them, lest my people forget; make them wander by your strength and bring them down, our shield, O Lord.

The sin of their mouth is the word of their lips; let them be caught in their pride, and for the curse and lying they recount.

Make an end in anger, make an end so that they are no more, and let them know that God rules over Jacob to the ends of the land. Selah.

And they return at evening; they growl like a dog and go about the city.

They wander about to eat; if they are not satisfied, they spend the night.

And I will sing of your strength, and shout for joy in the morning at your loyal love; for you have been a stronghold for me and a place of escape on the day it was cramped for me.

My strength, I will make music to you; for God is my stronghold, the God of my loyal love.
