For the choirmaster, 'Do Not Ruin.' Of David, an inscription, when he fled from the face of Saul in the cavern.
Show favor to me, God, show favor to me, for in you my being takes refuge; and in the shadow of your wings I take refuge until the destructions pass by.
I call out to God Most High, to the God who brings it to completion for me.
He will send from the heavens and he will save me; he reproached the one who crushes me. God will send his loyal love and his stability.
My being is in the middle of lions; I lie down among those who devour the children of humankind; their teeth are a spear and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
Be high above the skies, O God; over all the land be your weightiness.
They set up a net for my feet; my being bent down. They dug a pit-fall before my face; they fell into the middle of it. Selah.
My heart is established, God, my heart is established; I will sing and sing praises.
Awake, my weightiness; awake, harp and lyre; I will awaken the dawn.
I will give thanks to you among the peoples, O Lord; I will sing praises to you among the nations.
For great to the skies is your loyal love, and to the clouds your stability.
Be high above the skies, O God; over all the land be your weightiness.
