Psalms5

To the choirmaster, for the flutes, a psalm of David.

Give ear to my words, Yahweh; discern my murmuring.

Heed the sound of my cry, my king and my God, for to you I pray.

Yahweh, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I set things in order for you, and keep watch.

For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil does not lodge with you.

Boasters will not take their stand before your eyes; you hate all who do wickedness.

You destroy those who speak a lie; the man of bloodshed and deceit Yahweh abhors.

And I, in the abundance of your loyal love, will come into your house; I will bow down toward your holy temple in fear of you.

Yahweh, lead me in your righteousness for the sake of my enemies; make your way straight before me.

For there is nothing reliable in his mouth; their inward part is destruction; their throat is an open grave; they make their tongue smooth.

Hold them guilty, God; let them fall through their own plans; for the abundance of their transgressions thrust them out, for they have rebelled against you.

And let them rejoice, all who take refuge in you; forever let them shout for joy, and may you cover over them; and let them exult in you, those who love your name.

For you bless the righteous, Yahweh; with favor like a shield you encircle him.
