Psalms45

To the choirmaster, over the lilies, to the children of Korah, a poem, a song of the beloved.

My heart overflows with a good word; I say, my works are for the king; my tongue is the stylus of a skilled scribe.

You are more beautiful than the children of man; favor is poured out on your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever.

Gird your sword on your thigh, mighty one, your majesty and your splendor.

And in your splendor prosper; ride out for the word of truth and gentleness and righteousness, and your right hand will teach you awesome things.

Your arrows are sharpened; peoples fall beneath you, into the heart of the king's enemies.

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.

You loved righteousness and hated wickedness; that is why God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy beyond your companions.

Myrrh and aloes and cassia are all your garments; from palaces of ivory the strings have made you glad.

The daughters of kings are among your precious ones; the queen consort stands at your right hand in the fine gold of Ophir.

Listen, daughter, and see, and bend your ear, and forget your people and your father's house.

Let the king desire your beauty, for he is your lord; bow down to him.

And the daughter of Tyre will entreat your face with a gift, the rich of the people.

All splendid is the king's daughter within; her clothing is of gold filigree.

In embroidered robes she is brought to the king; virgins behind her, her companions, are brought to you.

They are brought with gladness and rejoicing; they enter the palace of the king.

In place of your fathers will be your sons; you will set them as officials in all the land.

I will make your name remembered in every generation and generation; that is why peoples will give thanks to you forever and ever.
