To the choirmaster. A psalm of David.
Blessed is the one who acts wisely toward the poor; in a day of evil, Yahweh will deliver him.
Yahweh will guard him and keep him alive, and he will be called blessed in the land; and do not give him over to the being of his enemies.
Yahweh will sustain him on a couch of illness; all his bed you have turned over in his sickness.
I said, Yahweh, show favor to me; heal my being, for I have sinned against you.
My enemies speak evil about me: When will he die and his name perish?
And if someone comes to see, he speaks vanity; his heart gathers wickedness for itself; he goes out to the outside and speaks.
Together all who hate me whisper against me; against me they reckon evil for me.
A word of worthlessness has been poured out on him, and the one who lay down will not rise again.
Even the man of my wholeness, in whom I trusted, who ate my food, has made his heel great over me.
But you, Yahweh, show favor to me and raise me up, so that I may repay them.
By this I know that you delight in me, for my enemy does not raise a shout over me.
And as for me, in my integrity you have supported me, and you have set me before your face forever.
Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from forever to forever. Amen and amen.
