To David.
Do not burn with anger at the evildoers; do not envy those who do injustice.
For like grass they quickly wither, and like the green of sprouting growth they wilt.
Trust in Yahweh and do good; dwell in the land and shepherd steadiness.
And delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the requests of your heart.
Roll your way upon Yahweh, and trust in him, and he will act.
He will bring out your righteousness like the light, and your justice like the noon.
Be still before Yahweh and wait longingly for him; do not burn at one who prospers in his way, at a man who makes schemes.
Let go of anger and forsake rage; do not burn with anger — it only leads to doing evil.
For evildoers will be cut off, but those who wait for Yahweh, they will possess the land.
Yet a little while, and the wicked is no more; you will look closely at his place, and he will not be.
And the humble will possess the land and delight in the abundance of wholeness.
The wicked plots against the righteous and gnashes his teeth at him.
The Lord laughs at him, for he sees that his day is coming.
The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bow, to bring down the poor and the needy, to slaughter those upright in their way.
Their sword will enter their own heart, and their bows will be broken.
Better is the little the righteous has than the wealth of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but Yahweh upholds the righteous.
Yahweh knows the days of the blameless, and their inheritance will be forever.
They will not be ashamed in the time of evil, and in the days of hunger they will be satisfied.
For the wicked will perish, and the enemies of Yahweh will be like the splendor of the pastures; they come to an end in smoke, they come to an end.
The wicked borrows and does not repay, but the righteous shows favor and gives.
For his blessed ones will occupy the land, and his cursed ones will be cut off.
From Yahweh the steps of a man are established, and he delights in his way.
If he falls, he will not be hurled down, for Yahweh supports his hand.
I was a boy, and also I have grown old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, or his seed seeking food.
All day long he shows favor and lends, and his seed becomes a blessing.
Turn away from evil and do good, and dwell forever.
For Yahweh loves justice and will not forsake his faithful ones; forever they are guarded, but the seed of the wicked is cut off.
The righteous will occupy the land, and they will dwell forever on it.
The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.
The instruction of his God is in his heart; his steps will not slip.
The wicked one watches for the righteous and seeks to put him to death.
Yahweh will not leave him in his hand, and will not condemn him as guilty when he is judged.
Wait for Yahweh and keep his way, and he will raise you high to occupy the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it.
I saw a wicked man, ruthless, spreading himself like a native tree, luxuriant.
Then he passed away, and look, he was not; I sought him, and he was not found.
Observe the blameless and see the upright, for the latter end of the man is wholeness.
But rebels are destroyed together; the latter end of the wicked is cut off.
And the deliverance of the righteous is from Yahweh, their stronghold in a time of distress.
And Yahweh helped them and delivered them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, for they have taken refuge in him.
