Of David. A poem.
Blessed is the one whose transgression is carried away, whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the person to whom Yahweh does not reckon guilt, and in whose breath there is no deceit.
When I kept silent, my bones wore out, in my roaring all day long.
For by day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my juices were turned into the parching heat of summer. Selah.
My sin I made known to you, and my guilt I did not cover; I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh; and you lifted away the guilt of my sin. Selah.
For this let every faithful one pray to you at a time of finding; surely the flood of great waters will not reach him.
You are a hiding place for me; from the tight place you keep me; with shouts of rescue you surround me. Selah.
I will give you insight and I will point out to you the way that you will go; I will counsel you, with my eye upon you.
Do not be like a horse, like a mule, that has no discernment; with bridle and halter its trappings must be held in, lest it come near you.
Many are the pains of the wicked; but the one who trusts in Yahweh, loyal love surrounds him.
Be glad in Yahweh and rejoice, you righteous, and ring out for joy, all you upright of heart.
