Psalms3

A psalm of David, when he fled from before Absalom his son.

Yahweh, how my opponents have multiplied! Many are rising up against me.

Many are saying of my being, There is no deliverance for him in God. Selah.

But you, Yahweh, are a shield about me, my weightiness, and the one who lifts up my head.

I call out to Yahweh with my voice, and he answers me from his holy mountain. Selah.

I lay down and slept; I woke, for Yahweh sustains me.

I will not fear the myriads of people who have set themselves against me all around.

Rise, Yahweh; save me, my God; for you have struck all my enemies on the cheek, you have broken the teeth of the wicked.

Deliverance belongs to Yahweh; your blessing is upon your people. Selah.
