Psalms27

Of David.

Yahweh is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the stronghold of my life; whom shall I dread?

When evildoers drew near against me to eat my flesh, my opponents and my enemies, they themselves stumbled and fell.

Though a camp encamp against me, my heart will not fear; though war rise against me, in this I am trusting.

One thing I have asked from Yahweh, it I will seek: to dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, to look on the favor of Yahweh and to inquire in his temple.

For he will hide me in his lair in the day of evil; he will conceal me in the hiding place of his tent; on a rock he will set me high.

And now my head will be high above my enemies around me, and in his tent I will sacrifice sacrifices of shouting; I will sing and make music to Yahweh.

Hear, Yahweh, my sound as I call out; show me favor and answer me.

To you my heart said, "Search my face." Your face, Yahweh, I will search.

Do not hide your face from me; do not turn away your servant in anger. You have been my help; do not leave me, and do not forsake me, God of my salvation.

For my father and my mother have left me, but Yahweh will gather me in.

Teach me, Yahweh, your way, and lead me on a path of level ground, because of my enemies.

Do not give me over to the being of my opponents, for witnesses of falsehood have risen against me, and one who breathes out violence.

Unless I had believed that I would see the good of Yahweh in the land of the living—

Wait for Yahweh; be strong, and let your heart be bold; and wait for Yahweh.
