To the choirmaster. A psalm of David.
Yahweh, in your strength the king rejoices, and in your deliverance how greatly he exults!
The desire of his heart you gave him, and the request of his lips you have not withheld. Selah.
For you meet him with blessings of good things; you set a crown of fine gold on his head.
Life he asked of you; you gave it to him: length of days, forever and ever.
Great is his weightiness in your deliverance; majesty and splendor you place upon him.
For you set him as blessings forever; you make him rejoice with gladness before your face.
For the king trusts in Yahweh, and in the loyal love of the Most High he will not be shaken.
Your hand will find all your enemies; your right hand will find those who hate you.
You will set them like a fire-pot of fire at the time you show your face; Yahweh in his anger will swallow them down, and fire will eat them.
You will destroy their fruit from the land, and their seed from among the children of humankind.
For they stretched out evil against you; they reckoned a scheme, but they will not be able.
For you will make them turn their back; with your bowstrings you will make ready against their faces.
Rise high, Yahweh, in your strength; we will sing and make music to your might.
