Psalms147

Praise Yahweh, for it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is lovely, and praise is fitting.

Yahweh builds Jerusalem; he gathers in the banished ones of Israel.

He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds.

He counts the number of the stars; he calls every one of them by name.

Great is our lord, and great in strength; his understanding has no number.

Yahweh restores the humble and brings low the wicked, down to the land.

Answer Yahweh with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the lyre.

Who covers the skies with clouds, who prepares rain for the land, who makes the mountains sprout with grass.

Who gives to the beasts their food, to the young of the raven, which call out.

Not in the might of the horse does he delight; not in the legs of the man does he take pleasure.

Yahweh takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who wait for his loyal love.

Praise Yahweh, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion.

For he has strengthened the bars of your gates; he has blessed your sons in your midst.

He who sets wholeness as your boundary; he satisfies you with the fat of the wheat.

He who sends out his utterance to the land; his word runs swiftly.

He who gives snow like wool; he scatters frost like ashes.

He who hurls his ice like crumbs; in the face of his cold, who can stand?

He sends his word and melts them; he makes his wind blow, and the waters flow.

He who declares his words to Jacob, his statutes and his justice to Israel.

He has not done so for any nation; as for justices, they have not known them. Praise Yahweh.
