1Had it not been Yahweh who was for us, let Israel say it now,
2Had it not been Yahweh who was for us, when people rose up against us,
3then they would have swallowed us down alive, when their anger burned against us;
4then the waters would have rinsed us, the wadi would have passed over our living being;
5then the raging waters would have passed over our living being.
6Blessed is Yahweh, who did not set us as prey to their teeth.
7Our living being is like a little bird escaped from the bird-trap of the fowlers; the bird-trap is broken, and we have escaped.
8Our helper is in the name of Yahweh, who made the skies and the land.
