Psalms119

Blessed are the blameless in the way, those who walk in the instruction of Yahweh.

Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with all their heart.

Indeed they do no injustice; they walk in his ways.

You yourself commanded your precepts, to keep them with all our might.

Would that my ways were set firm, to keep your decrees.

Then I will not be ashamed when I look at all your commandments.

I will give thanks to you with uprightness of heart when I learn the justice of your righteousness.

I will keep your decrees; do not forsake me wholly.

How can a youth keep his path pure? By keeping it according to your word.

With all my heart I have sought you; do not let me stray from your commandments.

In my heart I have hidden your promise, so that I will not sin against you.

Blessed are you, Yahweh; teach me your statutes.

With my lips I recounted all the justice of your mouth.

In the way of your testimonies I rejoiced, as over all wealth.

On your precepts I will meditate, and I will look to your paths.

In your statutes I will delight myself; I will not forget your word.

Deal fully with your slave; I will live and keep your word.

Uncover my eyes, and I will look at wonders from your instruction.

I am a sojourner in the land; do not hide your commandments from me.

My being is crushed with longing for your justice at all times.

You rebuked the arrogant, the cursed, those who go astray from your commandments.

Roll away from me reproach and contempt, for I kept your testimonies.

Even though officials sit and speak together against me, your slave meditates on your decrees.

Also your testimonies are my delights, the men of my counsel.

My being clings to the dust; give me life according to your word.

I recounted my ways, and you answered me; teach me your statutes.

Make me discern the way of your precepts, and I will meditate on your wonders.

My being weeps from grief; raise me up according to your word.

Remove the way of falsehood from me, and show favor to me with your instruction.

I chose the way of steadiness; I set your justice in place.

I have clung to your testimonies, Yahweh; do not put me to shame.

I will run the way of your commandments, for you enlarge my heart.

Teach me, Yahweh, the way of your statutes, and I will keep it to the end.

Give me discernment, and I will guard your instruction and keep it with all my heart.

Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it.

Bend my heart to your testimonies, and not to unjust gain.

Turn my eyes away from looking at emptiness; give me life in your ways.

Establish your utterance for your slave, which is for the fear of you.

Take away my reproach, which I dread, for your justice is good.

Look, I long for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life.

Let your loyal love come to me, Yahweh, your deliverance according to your utterance.

And I will answer the one who taunts me with a word, for I trust in your word.

And do not snatch the word of truth from my mouth utterly, for I wait for your justice.

And I will keep your instruction continually, forever and ever.

And I will walk about in a wide place, for I have sought your precepts.

And I will speak of your testimonies before kings and will not be ashamed.

And I will delight myself in your commandments, which I loved.

And I lifted my palms to your commandments, which I loved, and I will meditate on your statutes.

Remember the word to your servant, on which you have made me hope.

This is my comfort in my affliction: that your promise has kept me alive.

The arrogant mocked me exceedingly; from your instruction I did not turn away.

I remembered your justice from forever, Yahweh, and I comforted myself.

Scorching heat has seized me because of the wicked, who forsake your instruction.

Your statutes were songs to me in the house of my sojourning.

I remembered your name in the night, Yahweh, and I kept your instruction.

This has been mine, because I have kept your precepts.

Yahweh is my portion; I said I would keep your words.

I have entreated your face with all my heart; show favor to me according to your promise.

I reckoned my ways, and I turned my feet back to your testimonies.

I hastened and did not linger to keep your commandments.

The ropes of the wicked surrounded me; I did not forget your instruction.

At the middle of the night I rise to give thanks to you for the justice of your righteousness.

I am a companion to all who fear you, and to those who keep your precepts.

The land is full of your loyal love, Yahweh; teach me your statutes.

You have done good with your servant, Yahweh, according to your word.

Teach me good taste and knowledge, for I have trusted in your commandments.

Before I was afflicted, I was going astray, but now I keep your promise.

You are good and do good; teach me your statutes.

The arrogant have smeared falsehood on me; I will keep your precepts with all my heart.

Their heart is thick like fat; I delight in your instruction.

It was good for me that I was afflicted, so that I might learn your statutes.

The instruction of your mouth is better for me than thousands of gold and silver.

Your hands made me and established me; give me understanding, and let me learn your commandments.

Those who fear you will see me and rejoice, for I have waited for your word.

I know, Yahweh, that your justice is righteousness, and in steadiness you afflicted me.

Please, let your loyal love comfort me, according to your promise to your servant.

Let your compassion come to me, so that I may live, for your instruction is my delight.

Let the arrogant be ashamed, for they twisted me with falsehood; I will meditate on your precepts.

Let those who fear you turn back to me, and those who know your testimonies.

May my heart be blameless in your statutes, so that I will not be ashamed.

My being is spent for your deliverance; for your word I have waited.

My eyes are spent for your utterance, saying, "When will you comfort me?"

For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke; your statutes I have not forgotten.

How many are the days of your slave? When will you do justice on those who pursue me?

The arrogant have dug pitfalls for me, which are not according to your instruction.

All your commandments are steady; with falsehood they have chased me; help me.

They almost made an end of me in the land, but I did not forsake your precepts.

According to your loyal love preserve me alive, and I will keep the testimony of your mouth.

Forever, Yahweh, your word is stationed in the heavens.

Your steadiness is for generation after generation; you established the land, and it stands.

In line with your justice they stand today, for all things are your slaves.

Unless your instruction had been my delight, then I would have perished in my affliction.

Forever I will not forget your precepts, for by them you have kept me alive.

I am yours; save me, for I have sought your precepts.

The wicked have waited for me, to destroy me; I will consider your testimonies carefully.

I have seen an end to all completeness, but your commandment is exceedingly wide.

How I have loved your instruction! All the day it is my meditation.

Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for they are mine forever.

I have acted wisely beyond all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation.

I discern more than the elders, for I have kept your precepts.

From every evil path I held back my feet, so that I may keep your word.

From your justice I have not turned aside, for you have taught me.

How sweet to my palate is your promise, more than honey to my mouth!

From your precepts I gain understanding; therefore I hate every path of falsehood.

Your word is a lamp for my foot, and a light for my pathway.

I have sworn, and I will confirm it, to keep the justice of your righteousness.

I have been afflicted exceedingly; Yahweh, preserve my life according to your word.

Accept the freewill offerings of my mouth, please, Yahweh, and teach me your justice.

My being is in my palm continually, and your instruction I have not forgotten.

The wicked set a trap for me, but I did not wander from your precepts.

I inherited your testimonies forever, for they are the joy of my heart.

I inclined my heart to do your statutes forever, to the end.

I hated the half-hearted, and I loved your instruction.

You are my hiding place and my shield; I waited for your word.

Turn away from me, you who do evil, so that I may keep the commandments of my God.

Sustain me according to your word, and I will live, and do not put me to shame over my hope.

Sustain me, and I will be saved, and I will gaze on your statutes continually.

You tossed aside all who stray from your statutes, for their treachery is falsehood.

You made all the wicked of the land cease, like dross; therefore I loved your testimonies.

My flesh bristled from dread of you, and I feared your justice.

I have done justice and righteousness; do not abandon me to my oppressors.

Stand surety for your slave for good; do not let the arrogant oppress me.

My eyes are worn out for your deliverance and for the word of your righteousness.

Deal with your slave according to your loyal love, and teach me your statutes.

I am your slave; give me understanding, and I will know your testimonies.

It is time for Yahweh to act; they have broken your instruction.

Therefore I loved your commandments more than gold, even more than fine gold.

Therefore I held all the precepts about everything to be right, and I hated every path of falsehood.

Your testimonies are wonders; therefore my being kept them.

The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

I opened my mouth wide and panted, for I longed for your commandments.

Turn to me and show me favor, according to the justice for those who love your name.

Establish my footsteps by your word, and do not let any wickedness have power over me.

Ransom me from the oppression of humankind, and I will keep your precepts.

Make your face shine on your slave, and teach me your statutes.

Streams of water went down my eyes, because they did not keep your instruction.

You are righteous, Yahweh, and your justice is straight.

You commanded your testimonies in righteousness and in great steadiness.

My zeal has put an end to me, for my opponents forgot your words.

Your word is thoroughly refined, and your slave loved it.

I am little and despised; I have not forgotten your precepts.

Your righteousness is righteousness forever, and your instruction is stability.

Trouble and tight straits have found me; your commandments are my delight.

Your testimonies are righteousness forever; give me discernment, and I will live.

I called with all my heart; answer me, Yahweh; I will keep your statutes.

I called to you; save me, and I will keep your testimonies.

I advanced in the twilight, and I cried aloud; for your word I waited.

My eyes got ahead of the night watches, to ponder your utterance.

Hear my voice according to your loyal love, Yahweh; give me life according to your justice.

Those who pursue a wicked plan have drawn near; they are far from your instruction.

You are near, Yahweh, and all your commandments are stability.

Long ago I knew from your testimonies that you founded them forever.

See my affliction and pull me free, for I have not forgotten your instruction.

Contend in my dispute and redeem me; give me life by your utterance.

Deliverance is far from the wicked, for they have not sought your statutes.

Your compassions are many, Yahweh; give me life according to your justice.

Many are those who pursue me, and my foes; I have not turned aside from your testimonies.

I saw those who act treacherously, and I loathed them, because they did not keep your utterance.

See that I loved your precepts, Yahweh; give me life according to your loyal love.

The head of your word is stability, and every justice of your righteousness is forever.

Officials pursued me for nothing, but my heart was in dread of your word.

I am rejoicing over your utterance, like one who finds great plunder.

Falsehood I hated, and I abhorred it; your instruction I loved.

Seven times a day I praise you, on account of the justice of your righteousness.

Great wholeness belongs to those who love your instruction, and there is no stumbling-block for them.

I have waited for your deliverance, Yahweh, and I have done your commandments.

My being kept your testimonies, and I loved them exceedingly.

I kept your precepts and your testimonies, for all my ways are before you.

May my cry draw near before your face, Yahweh; give me understanding according to your word.

May my plea come before your face; according to your promise, deliver me.

My lips will pour out praise, for you teach me your statutes.

My tongue will answer your utterance, for all your commandments are righteousness.

Let your hand be there to help me, for I chose your precepts.

I have longed for your deliverance, Yahweh, and your instruction is my delight.

Let my living being live, and she will praise you, and your justice will help me.

I have wandered like a lost sheep; search for your slave, for I have not forgotten your commandments.
