Proverbs9

Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out her seven pillars.

She has slaughtered her beasts, she has mixed her wine, she has also arranged her table.

She has sent out her girls; she calls on the elevated heights of the town:

Who is naive? Let him turn aside hither. To the one lacking heart she says:

Come, feed on my food and drink the wine I have mixed.

Forsake the simple and live, and go straight on in the way of understanding.

One who admonishes a mocker takes for himself shame, and one who reproves a wicked person, his blemish.

Do not reprove a mocker, lest he hate you; reprove a wise person, and he will love you.

Give to a wise person, and he will grow wiser still; make known to a righteous person, and he will add to his learning.

The beginning of wisdom is the fear of Yahweh, and the knowledge of the holy ones is understanding.

For by me your days will increase, and years of life will be added to you.

If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; and if you mock, you alone will bear it.

The woman of stupidity is boisterous; she is naive and knows nothing.

She sits at the doorway of her house, on a throne on the heights of the town,

to call out to those who pass by on the road, those who make their paths straight:

Who is naive? Let him turn aside hither. And to the one lacking heart she says:

Stolen waters are sweet, and the bread of secrecy is pleasant.

And he does not know that the shades are there, that her invited ones are in the depths of Sheol.
