My son, do not forget my instruction, and let your heart keep my commandments.
for length of days and years of life and wholeness they will add to you.
Do not let loyal love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.
and find favor and good insight in the eyes of God and humankind.
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways know him, and he will make straight your paths.
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear Yahweh and turn aside from evil.
May it be healing to your navel and refreshment to your bones.
Honor Yahweh from your wealth and from the first of all your harvest,
so your barns will be filled with abundance, and your vats will burst open with new wine.
My son, do not reject the discipline of Yahweh, and do not loathe his rebuke.
for the one whom Yahweh loves he reproves, even as a father the son he is pleased with.
Blessed is the person who finds wisdom, and the person who obtains understanding.
For her profit is better than the profit of silver, and her gain than gold.
She is more precious than corals, and none of your delights equals her.
Length of days is in her right hand; in her left hand are wealth and weightiness.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are wholeness.
She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and those who hold fast to her are called blessed.
By wisdom Yahweh founded the land; he established the skies by understanding.
By his knowledge the deeps were split open, and the clouds drip dew.
My son, do not let them depart from your eyes; keep sound wisdom and discretion.
and they will be life for your being and favor for your neck.
Then you will walk on your way in security, and your foot will not stumble.
If you lie down, you will not be afraid; you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.
Do not be afraid of sudden terror, or of the devastation of the wicked when it comes.
for Yahweh will be your confidence, and he will keep your foot from capture.
Do not withhold good from its owners when it is in the power of your hand to do it.
Do not say to your neighbor, "Go and come back, and tomorrow I will give it," when you have it with you.
Do not devise evil against your neighbor while he lives in security beside you.
Do not contend with a man for no cause, if he has not done evil to you.
Do not envy a man of violence, and do not choose any of his ways.
for the crooked person is an abomination to Yahweh, but his intimacy is with the upright.
The curse of Yahweh is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous.
Though he mocks the mockers, he gives favor to the humble.
The wise will inherit weightiness, but fools raise up shame.
