A name is chosen over great wealth, and good favor over silver and over gold.
The rich and the poor meet together; Yahweh is the maker of them all.
A shrewd one sees evil and hides himself, but the naive pass on and are fined.
The reward of humility, the fear of Yahweh, is wealth and weightiness and life.
Thorns and traps lie in the path of the twisted one; whoever guards his being keeps far from them.
Train up the boy according to his way; even when he is old, he will not turn aside from it.
The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is a slave to the man who lends.
One who sows injustice will reap trouble, and the rod of his fury will come to an end.
One who is good of eye, he will be blessed, for he gives some of his bread to the poor.
Drive out the mocker, and conflict will go out; strife and shame will cease.
One who loves cleanness of heart, with favor on his lips, has the king for his friend.
The eyes of Yahweh guard knowledge, but he twists the word of one who acts treacherously.
The sluggish one says, A lion is outside; I will be murdered in the middle of the broad places.
The mouth of strange women is a deep pit; one with whom Yahweh is indignant will fall there.
Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a boy; the rod of discipline will put it far from him.
One who oppresses the poor to increase for himself, and one who gives to the rich, comes only to need.
Stretch out your ear and hear the words of the wise, and set your heart to my knowledge.
For it is pleasant when you keep them in your belly; they will be established together on your lips.
So that your trust may be in Yahweh, I have taught you today, even you.
Have I not written to you, officers, with counsels and knowledge,
to let you know the reality of reliable words, so as to bring back reliable words to those who sent you.
Do not rob the poor because he is poor, and do not crush the afflicted at the gate.
For Yahweh will argue their case, and will rob the being of those who rob them.
Do not associate with a master of anger, and with a man of rages do not go.
lest you learn his ways and take a snare for your being.
Do not be among those who strike the palm, among those who stand surety for loans.
If there is nothing for you to pay, why would he take your bed from under you?
Do not move the boundary of forever that your fathers made.
You have seen a man swift in his work: he will take his stand before the face of kings; he will not take his stand before the face of the obscure.
