Paul, a prisoner of the Anointed One Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon our beloved fellow worker,
and to Apphia our sister, and to Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the assembly at your house:
Favor to you and wholeness from God our Father and the Lord Jesus, the Anointed One.
I thank my God always, making mention of you upon my prayers,
hearing of your love and the trust that you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the holy ones,
so that the fellowship of your trust may become effective in the acknowledgment of every good thing that is in us in the Anointed One Jesus.
For I had great joy and comfort over your love, because the inward affections of the holy ones have been refreshed through you, brother.
Therefore, having much boldness in the Anointed One to order you what is befitting,
for the sake of love I rather exhort you, being such a one as Paul, an old man, and now also a prisoner of the Anointed One Jesus;
I exhort you for my child whom I have begotten in my chains, Onesimus,
who once was useless to you, but now is useful both to you and to me,
whom I have now sent back to you in person — who is my very heart — receive him yourself.
Whom I myself was wishing to keep with myself, so that on your behalf he may serve me in the chains of the good news;
however, apart from your consent I wished to do no thing, so that your good may be not as according to necessity but according to willingness.
For perhaps because of this he was separated from you for a time, so that you may possess him eternally;
but no longer as a slave, above a slave, a beloved brother, especially to me, but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord?
Therefore, if you consider me a partner, receive him yourself as me.
However, if in any way he has wronged you or owes you, charge this to me.
I myself, Paul, did write with my own hand, I myself will repay it; that I may not say to you that you owe even yourself to me also.
Yes, brother, I myself would have profit from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in the Anointed One.
Having been persuaded of your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even above what things I say.
Now at the same time also prepare a lodging for me; for I hope that through your prayers I will be granted to you.
Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in the Anointed One Jesus, greets you,
as do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.
The favor of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, be with your spirit. Amen. To Philemon it was written from Rome through Onesimus the servant.
