And Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the second year of their going out from the land of Egypt, in the first month, saying:
And the children of Israel shall observe the Passover at its appointed time.
On the fourteenth day of this month, between the evenings, you shall observe it at its appointed time; according to all its statutes and according to all its judgments you shall observe it.
And Moses spoke to the children of Israel, to observe the Passover.
And they observed the Passover in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, between the evenings, in the wilderness of Sinai; according to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did.
And there were men who were unclean on account of the being of a human, so they were not able to observe the Passover on that day; and they came near before Moses and before Aaron on that day.
And those men said to him, “We are unclean on account of the being of a human. Why are we held back from bringing near the offering of Yahweh at its appointed time among the children of Israel?”
And Moses said to them, “Stand, so that I may hear what Yahweh will command for you.”
Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:
Speak to the children of Israel, saying: Any man, if he becomes unclean for a being, or is on a far road away from you or your generations, he shall make a passover to Yahweh.
In the second month, on the fourteenth day, between the two evenings, they shall make it; with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they shall eat it.
They shall not leave any of it until morning, and they shall not break a bone in it; they shall make it according to every statute of the passover.
But the man who is clean and not on a journey, and fails to make the passover, that being shall be cut off from its people, because he did not bring near the present of Yahweh at its appointed time; that man shall bear his sin.
And if a sojourner sojourns with you and makes a passover to Yahweh, he shall do so according to the statute of the passover and according to what is prescribed for it; there shall be one statute for you, for the sojourner, and for the native of the land.
On the day they raised up the tabernacle, the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the testimony; and in the evening it was over the tabernacle like the look of fire, until morning.
So it was continually: the cloud covered it, and the look of fire by night.
And as soon as the cloud was taken up from over the tent, and after that the children of Israel set out; and in the place where the cloud settled down, there the children of Israel encamped.
At the mouth of Yahweh the children of Israel set out, and at the mouth of Yahweh they encamped; all the days that the cloud settled down over the tabernacle, they encamped.
And when the cloud grew long over the tabernacle for many days, the children of Israel kept the duty of Yahweh and did not set out.
Sometimes the cloud was a few days over the tabernacle: at the mouth of Yahweh they encamped, and at the mouth of Yahweh they set out.
And sometimes the cloud was there from evening until morning, and when the cloud was taken up in the morning, they set out; or by day and night, and when the cloud was taken up, they set out.
Or two days, or a month, or days, when the cloud grew long over the tabernacle to settle down on it, the children of Israel stayed encamped and did not set out; and when it was taken up, they set out.
At the mouth of Yahweh they encamped, and at the mouth of Yahweh they set out; they kept the duty of Yahweh at the mouth of Yahweh by the hand of Moses.
