²And the princes of Israel brought near, the heads of their fathers' house; they were the princes of the tribes, they who stood over those enrolled.

³And they brought their present to the face of Yahweh: six canopied carts and twelve cattle, a cart for two of the princes and an ox for each one; and they brought near them to the face of the dwelling place.

⁴And Yahweh said to Moses:

⁵Take these from them, that they may be used to do the work of the tent of meeting; and you shall give them to the Levites, each man in proportion to his service.

⁶And Moses took the carts and the cattle, and gave them to the Levites.

⁷Two of the carts and four of the cattle he gave to the children of Gershon, in proportion to their service;

⁸and four of the carts and eight of the cattle he gave to the children of Merari, in proportion to their service, under the hand of Ithamar, son of Aaron the priest.

⁹But to the children of Kohath he did not give, for the service of the holy things was upon them; on the shoulder they shall carry.

¹⁰And the princes brought near the dedication of the altar on the day it was anointed; the princes brought near their present to the face of the altar.

¹¹And Yahweh said to Moses: One prince a day, one prince a day, shall bring near their present for the dedication of the altar.

¹²And the one who brought near his present on the day first was Nahshon son of Amminadab, of the tribe of Judah.

⁸⁴This is the dedication of the altar on the day it was anointed, from the princes of Israel: twelve silver dishes, twelve silver bowls, twelve gold hand-bowls;

⁸⁵a hundred thirty for the one silver dish, and seventy for the one bowl; all the silver of the vessels, two thousand four hundred by the shekel of the holy place.

⁸⁶Twelve gold bowls, full of incense, ten each bowl, by the shekel of the holy place; all the gold of the bowls came to one hundred and twenty.

⁸⁷All the cattle for the burnt offering: twelve young bulls, twelve rams, twelve lambs, sons of a year, and their grain offering; and twelve he-goats of the she-goats for a sin offering.

⁸⁸And all the cattle of the sacrifice of the peace offerings: twenty-four young bulls, sixty rams, sixty he-goats, sixty lambs, sons of a year. This was the dedication of the altar after it was anointed.

⁸⁹And when Moses came into the tent of meeting to speak with him, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the atonement cover that is over the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim; and he spoke to him.
