¹These are the stages of the children of Israel who went out from the land of Egypt by their hosts, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

²And Moses wrote down their starting points for their stages by the mouth of Yahweh; and these are their stages, by their starting points.

³They set out from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand before the eyes of all the Egyptians.

⁴while the Egyptians were burying those whom Yahweh had struck down among them, every firstborn; and on their gods Yahweh had carried out judgments.

⁵And the children of Israel set out from Rameses and encamped at Succoth.

⁶And they set out from Succoth, and encamped at Etham, which is at the end of the wilderness.

⁷And they set out from Etham and turned back to Pi-hahiroth, which is opposite the face of Baal-zephon, and encamped before the face of Migdol.

⁸And they set out from before the face of Hahiroth, and crossed through the middle of the sea into the wilderness, and went a journey of three days in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped at Marah.

⁹And they set out from Marah and came to Elim; and at Elim were twelve eyes of water and seventy palm trees, and they encamped there.

¹⁰And they set out from Elim and encamped beside the Sea of Reeds.

¹¹And they set out from the Sea of Reeds and encamped in the wilderness of Sin.

¹²And they set out from the wilderness of Sin, and encamped at Dophka.

¹³And they set out from Dophka, and encamped at Alush.

¹⁴And they set out from Alush, and encamped at Rephidim; and there was no water there for the people to drink.

¹⁵And they set out from Rephidim, and encamped in the wilderness of Sinai.

¹⁶And they set out from the wilderness of Sinai, and encamped at Kibroth-hattaavah.

¹⁷And they set out from Kibroth-hattaavah, and encamped at Hazeroth.

¹⁸And they set out from Hazeroth, and encamped at Rithmah.

¹⁹And they set out from Rithmah, and encamped at Rimmon-perez.

²⁰And they set out from Rimmon-perez, and encamped at Libnah.

²¹And they set out from Libnah, and encamped at Rissah.

²²And they set out from Rissah, and encamped at Kehelathah.

²³And they set out from Kehelathah, and encamped at the mountain of Shapher.

²⁴And they set out from the mountain of Shapher, and they encamped at Haradah.

²⁵And they set out from Haradah, and they encamped at Makheloth.

²⁶And they set out from Makheloth, and they encamped at Tahath.

²⁷And they set out from Tahath, and they encamped at Terah.

²⁸And they set out from Terah, and they encamped at Mithcah.

²⁹And they set out from Mithcah, and they encamped at Hashmonah.

³⁰And they set out from Hashmonah, and they encamped at Moseroth.

³¹And they set out from Moseroth, and they encamped at Bene-jaakan.

³²And they set out from Bene-jaakan, and they encamped at Hor-haggidgad.

³³And they set out from Hor-haggidgad, and they encamped at Jotbathah.

³⁴And they set out from Jotbathah, and they encamped at Abronah.

³⁵And they set out from Abronah, and they encamped at Ezion-geber.

³⁶And they set out from Ezion-geber, and they encamped in the wilderness of Zin, that is Kadesh.

³⁷And they set out from Kadesh, and they encamped at Hor, the mountain, at the end of the land of Edom.

³⁸And Aaron the priest went up Hor, the mountain, by the mouth of Yahweh, and died there, in the fortieth year of the going out of the children of Israel from the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first of the month.

³⁹Now Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Hor, the mountain.

⁴⁰And the Canaanite, the king of Arad, who dwelled in the Negev in the land of Canaan, heard when the children of Israel came.

⁴¹And they set out from Hor, the mountain, and they encamped at Zalmonah.

⁴²And they set out from Zalmonah, and they encamped at Punon.

⁴³And they set out from Punon, and they encamped at Oboth.

⁴⁴And they set out from Oboth, and they encamped at Iye-abarim, on the boundary of Moab.

⁴⁵And they set out from Iim, and they encamped at Dibon-gad.

⁴⁶And they set out from Dibon-gad, and they encamped at Almon-diblathaim.

⁴⁷And they set out from Almon-diblathaim, and they encamped in the mountains of the Abarim, before the face of Nebo.

⁴⁸And they set out from the mountains of the Abarim, and they encamped in the plains of Moab beside the Jordan of Jericho.

⁴⁹And they encamped beside the Jordan, from Beth-jeshimoth to Abel-shittim, in the plains of Moab.

⁵⁰And Yahweh spoke to Moses in the Plain of Moab over the Jordan of Jericho, saying,

⁵¹Speak to the children of Israel, and you shall say to them, You are passing over the Jordan to the land of Canaan,

⁵²you shall drive out all who dwell in the land from before you, and you shall make perish all their carved figures, and all their cast images you shall make perish, and all their high places you shall wipe out.

⁵³And you shall take possession of the land and you shall dwell in it, for I have given you the land to take possession of it.

⁵⁴And you shall take the land as an inheritance by lot, by your families; to the many you shall increase its inheritance, and to the few you shall make its inheritance small; wherever the lot goes out for it, there it shall be its own. By the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit.

⁵⁵But if you do not dispossess the dwellers of the land from before you, then those whom you leave over from them will be thorns in your eyes and barbs in your sides, and they will cramp you in the land where you dwell.

⁵⁶And it will happen that, just as I planned to do to them, I will do to you.
