And Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the children of Israel, saying: This is the word that Yahweh has commanded.
When a man vows a vow to Yahweh, or swears an oath to bind a pledge on his being, he shall not violate his word; he shall do everything that goes out of his mouth.
And when a woman vows a vow to Yahweh and binds a pledge in her father's house in her youth,
and her father hears her vow and her pledge that she bound on her being, and her father keeps silent toward her, then all her vows will stand, and every pledge that she bound on her being will stand.
But if her father overrules her on the day he hears of it, none of her vows and pledges that she bound on her being will stand; and Yahweh will forgive her, because her father overruled her.
And if she should indeed belong to a man, while her vows are on her, or the rash utterance of her lips that she bound on her being,
and her husband hears it on the day he hears, and keeps silent toward her, then her vows will stand, and her pledges that she bound on her being will stand.
But if on the day her husband hears he overrules her, then he breaks her vow that is on her, and the rash utterance of her lips that she bound on her being; and Yahweh will forgive her.
And the vow of a widow, and of a woman driven out—all that she bound on her being—will stand on her.
And if in her husband's house she vowed, or bound a pledge on her being by an oath,
and her husband hears, and keeps silent toward her, and does not overrule her, then all her vows will stand, and every pledge that she bound on her being will stand.
But if her husband surely breaks them on the day he hears it, then nothing that goes out of her lips, for her vows or for the binding of her being shall stand; her husband has broken them, and Yahweh will forgive her.
Every vow, and every oath of binding to humble the being, her husband may make it stand, and her husband may break it.
But if her husband surely keeps silent to her from day to day, then he makes stand all her vows or all her pledges that are on her; he has made them stand, for he kept silent to her on the day he heard it.
But if he surely breaks them after he has heard it, then he shall bear her guilt.
These are the statutes that Yahweh commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between a father and his daughter in her youth, in the house of her father.
