¹Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying:

²The children of Israel shall camp, each man by his standard, with the signs of their fathers' house; they shall camp opposite, around the tent of meeting.

³And those who camp eastward, toward the sunrise: the standard of the camp of Judah, by their hosts; and the prince of the children of Judah is Nahshon, son of Amminadab;

⁴and his host and those mustered of them were four and seventy thousand and six hundred.

⁵And those who camp beside him: the tribe of Issachar; and the prince of the children of Issachar is Nethanel, son of Zuar;

⁶and his host and those mustered of it were four and fifty thousand and four hundred.

⁷The tribe of Zebulun; and the prince of the children of Zebulun is Eliab, son of Helon;

⁸and his host and those mustered of it were seven and fifty thousand and four hundred.

⁹All those mustered for the camp of Judah: a hundred and eighty-six thousand four hundred, by their hosts; they set out first.

¹⁰The standard of the camp of Reuben, by their hosts, is toward the south; and the prince of the children of Reuben is Elizur son of Shedeur;

¹¹and his host and those mustered of them: forty-six thousand five hundred.

¹²And those encamping beside him: the tribe of Simeon; and the prince of the children of Simeon is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;

¹³and his host and those mustered of them: fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

¹⁴And the tribe of Gad; and the prince of the children of Gad is Eliasaph son of Reuel;

¹⁵and his host and those mustered of them: forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.

¹⁶All those mustered for the camp of Reuben: a hundred and fifty-one thousand four hundred and fifty, by their hosts; they set out second.

¹⁷Then the tent of meeting will set out, with the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camps; as they encamp, so they will set out, each man at his side, by their standards.

¹⁸The standard of the camp of Ephraim, by their hosts, is toward the sea; and the prince of the children of Ephraim is Elishama son of Ammihud;

¹⁹and his host and those mustered of them: forty thousand five hundred.

²⁰And beside him the tribe of Manasseh; and the prince of the children of Manasseh is Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;

²¹and his host and those mustered of them: thirty-two thousand two hundred.

²²And the tribe of Benjamin; and the prince of the children of Benjamin is Abidan son of Gideoni;

²³and his host and those mustered of them: thirty-five thousand four hundred.

²⁴All those mustered for the camp of Ephraim: a hundred and eight thousand one hundred, by their hosts; they set out third.

²⁵The standard of the camp of Dan, by their hosts, is toward the north; and the prince of the children of Dan is Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;

²⁶and his host and those mustered of them: sixty-two thousand seven hundred.

²⁷And those encamping beside him: the tribe of Asher; and the prince of the children of Asher is Pagiel son of Ocran;

²⁸and his host and those mustered of them: forty-one thousand five hundred.

²⁹And the tribe of Naphtali; and the prince of the children of Naphtali is Ahira son of Enan;

³⁰and his host and those mustered of them: fifty-three thousand four hundred.

³¹All those mustered for the camp of Dan: a hundred and fifty-seven thousand six hundred; they set out last, by their standards.

³²These are those mustered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers; all those mustered of the camps, by their hosts, were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.

³³But the Levites were not mustered in the middle of the children of Israel, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

³⁴And the children of Israel did according to all that Yahweh commanded Moses; so they encamped by their standards, and so they set out, each man by his families, by the house of his fathers.
