Numbers10

Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:

Make for yourself two trumpets of silver; of hammered work you shall make them. They shall be for you for the convocation of the congregation and for the journeying of the camps.

And when they blow them, the whole congregation shall gather by appointment to you at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

And if with one they blow, the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather by appointment to you.

And when you blow an alarm, the camps, those encamped to the east shall set out.

And when you blow a second alarm, the camps, those encamped to the south shall set out; they shall blow an alarm for their stages.

But when you summon the assembly, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm.

And the children of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and they shall become a statute forever for you throughout your generations.

And when you go to war in your land against the enemy who presses hard upon you, you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the face of Yahweh your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.

And on the day of your gladness, and at your appointed times, and at the heads of your months, you shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall become for you a memorial before the face of your God. I am Yahweh your God.

And it came about in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, that the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle of the testimony.

And the children of Israel set out by their stages from the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud settled down in the wilderness of Paran.

They set out the first time at the mouth of Yahweh by the hand of Moses.

And the standard of the camp of the children of Judah set out first, by their hosts; and over its host was Nahshon, the son of Amminadab.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethanel, the son of Zuar.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab, the son of Helon.

And the tabernacle was taken down; and the children of Gershon and the children of Merari set out, carrying the tabernacle.

And the standard of the camp of Reuben set out by their hosts; and over its host, Elizur son of Shedeur.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Shimon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel.

And the Kohathites set out, bearing the sanctuary; and the others raised the dwelling until they came.

And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set out by their hosts; and over its host, Elishama son of Ammihud.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni.

And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan, the rearguard of all the camps, set out by their hosts; and over its host, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran.

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.

These were the stages of the children of Israel by their hosts, and they set out.

Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, the father-in-law of Moses, We are setting out for the place of which Yahweh said, I will give it to you. Come with us, and we will do good to you, for Yahweh has spoken good about Israel.

He said to him, I will not go; but to my own land and to my kindred I will go.

He said, Please do not leave us, for you know how we camp in the wilderness, and you will be eyes for us.

And it will be, if you go with us, yes, it will be: the very good that Yahweh does with us, we will do for you.

They set out from the mountain of Yahweh a journey of three days; and the chest of the covenant of Yahweh was setting out before them a journey of three days, to seek out a resting place for them.

And the cloud of Yahweh was over them by day, when they set out from the camp.

And it happened, when the chest set out, that Moses said, Rise, Yahweh, and let your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate you flee from your face.

And when it rested, he would say, Return, Yahweh, to the ten thousands of the thousands of Israel.
