And these are the priests and the Levites who came up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,
Amariah, Malluch, Hattush,
Shecaniah, Rehum, Meremoth,
Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abijah,
Mijamin, Moadiah, Bilgah,
Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah,
Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the leaders of the priests and their brothers in the days of Jeshua.
And the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, Mattaniah, who was over the songs of praise, he and his brothers.
And Bakbukiah and Unni, their brothers, were opposite them for the duties.
And Jeshua fathered Joiakim, and Joiakim fathered Eliashib, and Eliashib fathered Joiada,
and Joiada fathered Jonathan, and Jonathan fathered Jaddua.
And in the days of Joiakim there were priests, leaders of the fathers: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;
of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan;
of Mellichu, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph;
of Harim, Adna; of Meraioth, Helkai;
of Iddo, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam;
of Abijah, Zikri; of Miniamin, of Moadiah, Piltai;
of Bilgah, Shammua; of Shemaiah, Jonathan;
and of Joiarib, Mattenai; of Jedaiah, Uzzi;
of Sallai, Kallai; of Amok, Eber;
of Hilkiah, Hashabiah; of Jedaiah, Nethanel.
The Levites in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan, and Jaddua were recorded as leaders of the fathers, and the priests too, under the reign of Darius the Persian.
The descendants of Levi, leaders of the fathers, were recorded in the scroll of the word of the days, up to the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.
And the leaders of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, and their brothers opposite them, to praise and to give thanks, by the command of David the man of God, guard corresponding to guard.
Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub were gatekeepers keeping guard at the storerooms of the gates.
These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and Ezra the priest, the scribe.
And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought out the Levites from all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to hold the dedication with gladness, with thanksgivings and with song, with cymbals, harps, and lyres.
And the sons of those who sing gathered together, from the district around Jerusalem, and from the courts of the Netophathites.
And from Beth-Gilgal, and from the fields of Geba and Azmaveth; for those who sing had built themselves courts around Jerusalem.
The priests and the Levites purified themselves, and they purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.
Then I brought the officials of Judah up onto the wall, and I stationed two great thanksgiving choirs and processions; one to the right, upon the wall, toward the Gate of the Ash-heap.
And after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the officials of Judah,
and Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam,
Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah;
and some of the sons of the priests, with trumpets: Zechariah son of Jonathan, son of Shemaiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Micaiah, son of Zaccur, son of Asaph;
and his brothers: Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, and Hanani, with the implements of the song of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe was before their faces.
And by the gate of the fountain, in front of them, they went up on the steps of the city of David, at the ascent to the wall, above the house of David, and as far as the gate of the waters on the sunrise side.
And the second thanksgiving choir went opposite them, and I followed behind it, with half of the people, upon the wall, above the Tower of the Fire-pots, as far as the Broad Wall.
and above the gate of Ephraim, and over the gate of Jeshanah, and over the gate of the fish, and the tower of Hananel, and the tower of the Hundred, as far as the gate of the flock; and they stood at the gate of the guard.
So the two thanksgiving choirs took their stand in the house of God, and so did I, with half of the officials beside me.
and the priests Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;
And Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malkijah, and Elam, and Ezer. And those who sing made themselves heard, and Izrahiah was the overseer.
And they sacrificed great sacrifices on that day, and they rejoiced; for God had made them rejoice with great gladness; and the women and the children also rejoiced; and the gladness of Jerusalem was heard from afar.
And on that day men were appointed over the chambers for the storehouses, for the contributions, for the firstfruits, and for the tenths, to gather into them, from the fields of the cities, the portions of the instruction for the priests and for the Levites; for the gladness of Judah was over the priests and over the Levites who stood.
And they kept the duty of their God and the duty of the purification, together with those who sing and the gatekeepers, according to the command of David and of Solomon his son.
For in the days of David and Asaph, from of old, there were heads of those who sing, and a song of praise and thanksgiving to God.
And all Israel, in the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah, were giving the portions of those who sing and of the gatekeepers, the word of a day in its day; and they were setting apart for the Levites, and the Levites were setting apart for the sons of Aaron.
