¹And the leaders of the people dwelled in Jerusalem, and the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of ten to dwell in Jerusalem, the holy city, while nine parts were in the cities.

²And the people blessed all the men who volunteered to dwell in Jerusalem.

³And these are the heads of the province who dwelled in Jerusalem; and in the cities of Judah dwelled each man on his possession in their cities: Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the Nethinim, and the children of the slaves of Solomon.

⁴And in Jerusalem dwelled some of the children of Judah and some of the children of Benjamin. Of the children of Judah: Athaiah the son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalalel, of the children of Perez;

⁵and Maaseiah the son of Baruch, the son of Col-Hozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of the Shilonite.

⁶All the children of Perez, those who dwell in Jerusalem, were four hundred sixty and eight, men of strength.

⁷And these are the children of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jeshaiah;

⁸and after him Gabbai, Sallai, nine hundred twenty and eight.

⁹And Joel the son of Zikri was overseer over them, and Judah the son of Senaah was second over the city.

¹⁰Of the priests: Jedaiah the son of Joiarib, Jakin,

¹¹Seraiah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God;

¹²and their brothers who did the work for the house, eight hundred twenty and two; and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malkijah,

¹³and his brothers, heads of fathers, two hundred forty and two; and Amashsai the son of Azarel, the son of Ahzai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer,

¹⁴and their brothers, mighty men of strength, a hundred twenty and eight; and the overseer over them was Zabdiel the son of Haggedolim.

¹⁵And of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni;

¹⁶and Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the heads of the Levites, were over the outer work for the house of God;

¹⁷and Mattaniah the son of Micah, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, the head of the beginning, who would give thanks at the prayer; and Bakbukiah second from his brothers; and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.

¹⁸All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred eighty and four.

¹⁹And the gatekeepers: Akkub, Talmon, and their brothers who kept watch at the gates, a hundred seventy and two.

²⁰And the rest of Israel, the priests, the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, each man on his inheritance.

²¹And the Nethinim dwelled on Ophel; and Ziha and Gishpa were over the Nethinim.

²²And the overseer of the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Mica, of the children of Asaph, those who sing, in front of the work of the house of God.

²³For the commandment of the king was over them, and support was upon those who sing, the word of a day on its day.

²⁴And Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, was at the side of the king for every word concerning the people.

²⁵And as for the courts, with their fields, some of the children of Judah dwelled in Kiriath Arba and its daughters, and in Dibon and its daughters, and in Jekabzeel and its courts,

²⁶and in Jeshua, and in Moladah, and in Beth Pelet,

²⁷and in Hazar Shual, and in Beer Sheba and its daughters,

²⁸and in Ziklag, and in Meconah and in its daughter villages.

²⁹and in En Rimmon, and in Zorah, and in Jarmuth,

³⁰Zanoah, Adullam, and their courts, Lachish and its fields, Azekah and its daughters; and they encamped from Beer Sheba as far as the valley of Hinnom.

³¹And the children of Benjamin were from Geba: Micmash, and Aija, and Beth-el and its daughters.

³²Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,

³³Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim,

³⁴Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat,

³⁵Lod and Ono, the valley of the Engravers.

³⁶And some of the Levites, divisions of Judah, belonged to Benjamin.
