Mark9

And He was saying to them, Amen I say to you that there are some here of those already standing who will never taste of death until they see the kingdom of God having come with power.

And after six days Jesus takes along Peter and James and John, and brings them up into a high mountain, apart on their own alone. And He was transfigured before them,

and his garments were shining white exceedingly, as snow, such as a launderer on the land is not able thus to whiten.

And Elijah with Moses appeared to them, and they were talking with Jesus.

And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Rabbi, it is good for us to be here, and let us make three tents, for You one and for Moses one and for Elijah one;

for he knew not what he may answer, for they were terrified.

And there came a cloud overshadowing them, and there was a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son; listen to Him.

And suddenly, when they had looked around, no longer no one, they saw except Jesus alone with themselves.

And when they are descending now from the mountain, He instructed them that they may tell no one what they had seen, except when the Son of Man may rise out from the dead.

And that saying they kept among themselves, questioning what it is to rise out from the dead.

And they were asking Him, saying that, The scribes say that it behooves Elijah to come first?

And He answered and said to them, Elijah indeed, having come first, restores all things; and how has it been written of the Son of Man that He may suffer many things and may be set at naught.

But I say to you that also Elijah has come, and they did to him as much as they were desiring, even as it has been written of him.

And when they had come to the disciples, they saw a great crowd around them, and scribes arguing with them.

And immediately all the crowd, when they had seen Him, they marvelled, and running to Him they were greeting Him.

And He asked those scribes, What are you disputing with them?

And one out of the crowd answered Him, said, Teacher, I brought my son to You, having a mute spirit.

And whenever it grasps him, it throws him down; and he foams and he gnashes his teeth and is withering away. And I spoke to your disciples that they may cast it out, and they had not power.

And answering, He says to them, O untrusting generation! Until when will I be with you? Until when will I bear with you? Bring him to Me.

And they brought him to Him. And when the spirit had seen Him, immediately it threw him into convulsions, and had fallen upon the ground, he was rolling around foaming.

And He asked his father, How long a time is it that this has been with him? And he said, From childhood.

And often it casts him both into the fire and into waters, that it may destroy him; but if anything You are able to do, help us, having compassion on us.

And Jesus said to him, the If You are able to trust, all things are possible to the one trusting.

And immediately the father of the child, having cried out with tears, was saying, I trust, Lord; help me with the distrust!

Now when Jesus had seen that a crowd was running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, O mute and deaf spirit, I myself command you, come out of him, and no more shall you enter into him.

And when it had cried out and much throwing him into convulsions, it came out, and he became as if dead, in order for the many to say that he was dead.

And Jesus, when he had taken him by the hand, raised him up, and he arose.

And when He was entering into a house, his disciples in private were asking Him, Why were we ourselves not able to cast it out?

And He said to them, This kind is able to go out by no thing except by prayer and with fastings.

And from there, when they had gone forth, they were passing through Galilee, and He was not wanting that anyone may know it;

for He was teaching his disciples and He was saying to them that, The Son of Man is delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him, and when he had been killed, on the third day He will arise.

And they were not understanding the word, and they were afraid to ask Him.

And they came to Capernaum; and having been in the house He was asking them, What on the way to yourselves were you discussing?

And they were silent; for with one another they had been discussing along the road which was greatest.

And when he had sat down, He called the Twelve and He says to them, If anyone desires to be first, he will be of all last and of all servant.

And when he had taken a child, He set it in their midst, and having taken it in His arms He said to them,

Whoever shall receive one of such little children in my name receives Me; and whoever shall receive Me, receives not Me but the One who sent Me.

Now John was speaking to Him, saying, Teacher, we saw someone in your name casting out demons who does not follow us, and we were forbidding him because he was not following us.

And Jesus said, Forbid him not; for there is no one who will do a work of power in my name and will be able readily to speak evil of me.

For whoever is not against us is for us.

For whoever gives you to drink a cup of water in my name because you are the Anointed One’s, Amen I say to you that he will never lose his wage.

And whoever shall cause to stumble one of these little ones who are trusting in Me, it is better for him rather if a heavy millstone is put around his neck and he has been cast into the sea.

And if your hand shall cause you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into the life crippled than having the two hands to go away into the Valley of Hinnom, into the unquenchable fire.

Where their worm dies not and the fire is not quenched.

And if your foot shall cause you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into the life lame than having the two feet to be cast into the Valley of Hinnom, into the unquenchable fire.

Where their worm dies not and the fire is not quenched.

And if your eye shall cause you to stumble, cast it out; it is better for you with one eye to enter into the kingdom of God than having two eyes to be cast into the Valley of Hinnom of the fire.

Where their worm dies not and the fire is not quenched.

For everyone will be salted with fire, and all sacrifice will be salted with salt.

The salt is good; however if the salt becomes unsalty, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves and be at peace with one another.
