Mark8

In those days again, the crowd being much and not having what they may eat, Jesus, having called his disciples to Him, says to them,

I am moved with compassion upon the crowd, because already three days they continue with Me and they have nothing that they may eat.

And if I shall send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way; and some of them have come from afar.

And his disciples answered Him that, From where will anyone here be able to satisfy these with bread in this desolate place?

And He was asking them, How many loaves have you? And they said, Seven.

And He directs the crowd to recline on the ground, and when he had taken the seven loaves, had given thanks, He broke them and he was giving them to his disciples, that they may set them before them; and they set it before the crowd.

And they had a few small fish; and when he had blessed them, He ordered also these to be set before them.

And now they ate and were satisfied, and they took up overflow of fragments, seven baskets.

Now there were about four thousand having eaten; and He sent them away.

And immediately when he had climbed into the boat with his disciples, He came into the district of Dalmanutha.

And the Pharisees went out and began to dispute with Him, seeking from Him a sign from the skies, testing Him.

And when he had sighed deeply in his spirit, He says, Why does this generation seek a sign? Amen I say to you, if a sign will be given to this generation.

And when he had left them, again had climbed into the boat, He went away to the other side.

And they forgot to take loaves, and except one loaf they had not any with themselves in the boat.

And He was instructing them, saying, Watch out, take heed of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the leaven of Herod.

And they were reasoning with one another, saying, Because they have not loaves.

And when Jesus had known it, He says to them, Why do you reason because you have not loaves? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Do you still have your heart hardened?

Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?

When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many hand-baskets full of fragments took you up? They say to Him, Twelve.

When now the seven to the four thousand, of how many baskets the fillings of fragments took you up? And they speak to him, Seven.

And He was saying to them, How do you not yet understand?

And they come to Bethsaida, and they bring to Him a blind man and they implore Him that He may touch him.

And having taken hold of the hand of the blind man, he brought him out of the village, and when he had spit upon his eyes, had laid the hands upon him, He was asking him, if you see anything?

And when he had looked up, he was saying, I see the men, for as trees I see them walking.

Then again He put the hands upon his eyes, and made him look, and he restored and he was seeing everything well, clearly.

And He sent him to his home, saying, You shall not enter into the village, nor may you speak to anyone in the village.

And Jesus and his disciples went forth into the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way He was questioning his disciples, saying to them, Whom do the men pronounce Me to be?

And they said to Him, saying that, John the Baptist, and others, Elijah, now others that one of the prophets.

And He himself was questioning them, However you yourselves, whom do you pronounce Me to be? Now Peter answered and said to Him, You yourself are the Anointed One.

And He warned them that they may tell no one concerning Him.

And He began to teach them that it is necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things and to be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and to be killed, and after three days to rise again;

and openly He was speaking the word. And Peter, having taken Him, began to rebuke Him.

And when he had turned and had looked upon his disciples, He rebuked Peter and speaks, Go behind Me, the adversary, for you have in mind not the things of God but the things of the men.

And having called the crowd to Him with his disciples, He said to them, If anyone desires to follow after Me, he should deny himself and he should take up his cross and he should follow Me.

For whoever if shall desire to rescue his life will lose it; now whoever will lose his life on my account and of the good news, this one will rescue it.

For what profits a man if to gain the whole world and to lose his being?

Or what may a man give as an exchange for his being?

For whoever if shall be ashamed of me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, also the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He may come in the glory of his Father with the holy messengers.
