And when they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany near the Mount of Olives, he sends two of his disciples,
and says to them, "Go into the village before you, and immediately on entering into it you will find a colt tied, upon which no one not yet, no person, has sat. Untie it and lead it.
And if anyone says to you, 'Why are you doing this?' say that its Lord has need, and soon he sends it back here."
And they departed, and now found the colt tied at the door outside by the street, and they untied it.
And some of those who had stood there were saying to them, "What are you doing, untying the colt?"
And they spoke to them even as Jesus had commanded, and they allowed them.
And they lead the colt to Jesus, and they cast their cloaks upon it, and he sat on it.
And now many spread their cloaks on the road, and others, cutting down branches from the fields, were spreading them into the way.
And those going before and those following were crying out, saying, "Hosanna! Blessed is the One coming in the name of the Lord!
Blessed is the coming kingdom in the name of the Lord, of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!"
And Jesus entered into Jerusalem and into the temple, and when he had looked around on all things, the hour already being late evening, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.
And on the next day, when they were exiting from Bethany, he was hungry.
And when he had seen from afar a fig tree having leaves, he went, if perhaps he will find anything on it. And when he had come to it, he found nothing except leaves, for it was not the season of figs.
And answering, Jesus said to it, "No more, forever, would anyone eat fruit from you." And his disciples were listening.
And they come to Jerusalem. And when Jesus had entered into the temple, he began to cast out those selling and those buying in the temple, and the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling the doves he overturned,
and he was not permitting that anyone may carry a vessel through the temple.
And he was teaching and was saying to them, "Surely it has been written that 'my house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations'? However you yourselves have made it a den of robbers."
And the chief priests and the scribes heard it, and they were seeking how they may destroy him; for they were afraid of him, for all the crowd was astonished at his teaching.
And when evening came, they were going out of the city.
And passing by in the morning, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
And having remembered, Peter says to him, "Rabbi, look, the fig tree that you cursed has been dried up."
And Jesus answered and said to them, "Have trust from God.
For, Amen, I say to you that whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken away and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but trusts that what he says takes place, it will be done for him, what he says.
Because of this I say to you, all things as much as you ask when praying, trust that you receive, and it will be to you.
And when you stand praying, forgive if you have anything against anyone, so that also your Father who is in the heavens may forgive you your trespasses.
Now if you yourselves do not allow, nor will your father in the heavens forgive your trespasses."
And they come again to Jerusalem; and when he is walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders come to him,
and they were saying to him, "By what authority are you doing these things? Or who gave you this authority, that you may do these things?"
And Jesus answered and said to them, "I myself will also ask you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
The immersion of John — was it from heaven or from men? Answer me."
And they were reasoning with themselves, saying, "What may we say? If we shall say, 'From heaven,' he will say, 'Then because of why did you not trust in him?'
But if we shall say, 'From men'..." — they were afraid of the crowd; for all were holding John truly, that he was a prophet.
And answering, they say to Jesus, "We do not know." And Jesus answered and said to them, "Neither do I myself tell you by what authority I do these things."
