The beginning of the good news of Jesus the Anointed One, the Son of God.
Even as it has been written in Isaiah the prophet: Behold, I myself send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.
The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
John came, who is immersing in the wilderness and proclaiming an immersion of change of heart for forgiveness of sins.
And all the region of Judea and all of Jerusalem were going out to him, and they were being immersed by him in the Jordan river, confessing their sins.
And John was now having clothed himself in hair of a camel, with a belt of leather around his waist, and he is eating locusts and wild honey.
And he was preaching, saying: He who is mightier than I comes after me, of whom I am not sufficient, having stooped down, to untie the strap of his sandals.
I myself indeed immersed you in water, however He himself will immerse you with the Holy Spirit.
And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was immersed in the Jordan by John.
And immediately, going up from the water, he saw the heavens tearing open and the Spirit as a dove descending upon Him.
And a voice came out of the heavens: You yourself are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased.
And immediately the Spirit drives Him out into the wilderness.
And He was there in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by the adversary, and He was with the wild animals; and the messengers were ministering to Him.
And after the delivering up of John, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God,
and saying that the appointed-time has been fulfilled and the kingdom of God has drawn near; change your heart and trust in the good news.
And now passing by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
And Jesus said to them: Come after Me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
And immediately, when they had left their nets, they followed Him.
And when he had gone on a little from there, He saw James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, and they were in the boat adjusting the nets,
and immediately He called them. And when they had left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, they went away after Him.
And they go into Capernaum. And immediately on the Sabbaths, when he had entered into the synagogue, He was teaching.
And they were astonished at his teaching; for He was teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,
saying: Ha! What to us and to You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are, the Holy One of God!
And Jesus rebuked him, saying: Be silent, and come forth out of him!
And the unclean spirit, having thrown him into convulsions and having shouted in a loud voice, came forth out of him.
And all were astonished, so as to question among themselves, saying: What is this? What is this new teaching, that with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him!
And now his news went out immediately everywhere into all the surrounding region of Galilee.
And immediately, going out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
And the mother-in-law of Simon was laying sick, feverish, and immediately they speak to Him about her.
And when he had come to her, having taken hold of her hand, He raised her up; and the fever left her immediately, and she was ministering to them.
Now when evening had come, when the sun went down, they were bringing to Him all those being sick and those being demonised;
and all the city was gathered at the door.
And He healed many being sick of various diseases, and He cast out many demons, and He was not allowing the demons to speak, because they knew Him to be the Anointed One.
And very early, while still much night, when he had risen up, He went out and departed into a solitary place, and there He was praying.
And Simon and those with him went after Him;
and having found Him, they also say to Him that Everyone seeks You.
And He says to them: Let us go another way, into those places which are having villages, so that there also I may preach; for this is why I have come forth.
And He was going, preaching in their synagogues in all Galilee, and casting out the demons.
And a leper comes to Him, imploring Him and kneeling down to him and saying to Him that If You may be willing, You are able to cleanse me.
And Jesus, having compassion, when he had stretched out his hand, touched him and says to him: I am willing, be cleansed.
And when he was speaking, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
And having sternly warned him, immediately He sent him away,
and He says to him: See that you may speak nothing to none; but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
And when he had gone out, he began to proclaim much and to spread abroad the matter, so that He was no longer able to enter openly into the city, but He was out in solitary places; and they were coming to Him from every side.
