And when He had climbed into a boat, He passed over and came to His own city.
And behold, they were bringing to Him a paralytic lain down on a bed. And when Jesus had seen their trust, He said to the paralytic, "Take courage, child, your sins are forgiven to you."
And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man blasphemes!"
And Jesus, seeing their thoughts, He said, "So why do you yourselves think evil in your hearts?
For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Arise and walk'?
So that, however, you may know that the Son of Man has authority on the land to forgive sins" — then He says to the paralytic, "Having arisen, take up your mat and go to your house."
And when he had arisen, he went away to his house.
Now having seen, the crowds revered and glorified God, the One who gave such authority to men.
And Jesus, passing on from there, He saw a man sitting at the tax booth, named Matthew, and He says to him, "Follow Me." And when he had arisen, he followed Him.
And it came to pass, when He is reclining in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners, when they had come, they were reclining with Jesus and His disciples.
And having seen it, the Pharisees was saying to His disciples, "Because of why does your Teacher eat with the tax collectors and sinners?"
And Jesus, when He had heard, He said to them, "Not those being strong have need of a physician, but those being sick.
However, having gone, learn what is, 'Compassion I desire and not sacrifice I desire'; not I came to call the righteous, but sinners into change of heart."
Then the disciples of John come to Him, saying, "Because of why do we ourselves and the Pharisees fast many times, however your disciples not fast?"
And Jesus said to them, "Surely the sons of the bridechamber can not mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? However days will come when the bridegroom may have been taken away from them, and then they will fast.
However no one puts a patch of unshrunk cloth on old clothing; for its patch tears away from the garment, and a worse tear emerges.
Nor do they pour new wine into old wineskins; then, lest indeed the wineskins are burst, and the wine is poured out and the wineskins are ruined. But they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved."
These things, when He is speaking to them, behold, a certain ruler, having come, was kneeling down to Him, saying that, "My daughter presently has died; but, having come, lay your hand upon her, and she will live."
And having arisen, Jesus followed him, also His disciples.
And behold, a woman having a flux of blood twelve years, when she had come up behind Him, she touched the fringe of His garment.
For she was saying within herself, "If only I shall touch His garment, I will be healed."
And Jesus, when He had turned and had seen her, He said, "Take courage, daughter, your trust has cured you." And the woman was cured from that very hour.
And Jesus, having come into the house of the ruler and having seen the flute players and the crowd making a commotion,
He was saying to them, "Go away, for the girl is not dead, but sleeps." And they were mocking Him.
When now the crowd was put outside, when He had entered, He took hold of her hand, and the girl arose.
And this report went out into all that land.
And Jesus, passing on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, "Have mercy on us, Son of David."
Now having come into the house, the blind men came to Him, and Jesus says to them, "Trust you that I am able to do this?" They say to Him, "Yes, Lord."
Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your trust, it should be done to you."
And their eyes were opened. And Jesus strictly instructed them, saying, "See that no one should know."
But when they had gone out, they make Him known in all that land.
Now as they were going out, behold, they brought to Him a man mute and demonised.
And when the demon had been cast out, the mute man spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying that, "Never was it seen thus in Israel."
Now the Pharisees were saying, "By the prince of the demons He casts out the demons."
And Jesus was going throughout all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and every sickness in the people.
Now when He had seen the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were troubled and cast away as sheep not having a shepherd.
Then He says to His disciples, "The harvest indeed is plentiful, however the workmen are few;
therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest that He may send out workmen into His harvest."
