In that very hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who then is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens?"
And Jesus called a child to Him and set it in their midst,
and said, "Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become as the little children, you shall certainly not enter into the kingdom of the heavens.
Therefore whoever will humble himself as this little child, he is the greater in the kingdom of the heavens.
And whoever shall receive one such little child in my name receives Me.
But whoever causes one of these little ones who are trusting in Me myself to stumble, it is better for him that a heavy millstone be hung around his neck and he be sunk in the depth of the sea.
Woe to the world because of the causes of sin! For it is necessary that the stumbling blocks come, but woe to that man through whom the offense comes!
Now if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; it is better for you to enter into the life crippled or lame than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the eternal fire.
And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and cast it from you; it is better for you to enter into the life one-eyed than having two eyes to be cast into the Valley of Hinnom of the fire.
See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I say to you that their messengers in the heavens through all times behold the face of my Father who is in the heavens.
For the son of man came to rescue those already perishing.
What do you think? If a certain man has a hundred sheep and one of them shall have gone astray, will he not leave the ninety nine on the mountains and, having gone, seek the one going astray?
And if he happens to find it, amen I say to you that he rejoices over it more than over the ninety nine which did not go astray.
Thus it is not the will of your Father who is in the heavens that one of these little ones may perish.
Now if your brother shall sin against you, go and reprove him between you and him alone. If he shall hear you, you have gained your brother.
But unless he shall hear, take with you one or two more, that upon the testimony of two or three witnesses every declaration may be strengthened.
Now if he shall fail to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. And if he shall fail to listen also to the assembly, he should be to you as the pagan and the tax collector.
Amen, I say to you, as much as you shall bind on the earth will have been bound in the heaven, and as much as you shall loose on the earth will have been loosed in the heaven.
Again, amen I say to you that if two of you shall agree on the earth concerning any matter that they shall ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in the heavens.
For where two or three are assembled unto My name, there am I in their midst."
Then Peter, having come, said to Him, "Lord, how often will my brother sin against me and I will forgive him? Up to seven times?"
Jesus says to him, "I say to you, not up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven!
Because of this the kingdom of the heavens has become like a man, a king, who desired to settle accounts with his slaves.
And when he was beginning to settle, one was brought to him, a debtor of ten thousand talents.
Now when he was not having anything to pay, his master commanded him to be sold, and his wife and the children and all as much as he has, and payment to be made.
Therefore the slave, having fallen down, was bowing on his knees to him, saying, 'Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay all to you.'
Now the master of that slave, having been moved with compassion, released him and forgave him the debt.
But when that same slave had gone out, he found one of his fellow servants who was owing him a hundred denarii, and having seized him, he was throttling him, saying, 'Pay me if any you owe.'
Therefore his fellow servant, having fallen down into his feet, was begging him, saying, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you all things.'
But he was not willing; but when he had gone, he cast him into prison until he pays that which is being owed.
Therefore when his fellow servants had seen the things having taken place, they were grieved deeply, and when they had gone, they narrated to their master all that having taken place.
Then his master, having called him to him, says to him, 'Evil slave, all that debt I forgave you because you begged me.
Was it not necessary also for you to have pitied your fellow servant, as I myself also pitied you?'
And his master, having been angry, delivered him to the jailers until he pays all which is being owed to him.
Thus also my heavenly Father will do to you, unless each of you may forgive his brother their trespasses from your heart."
