Luke21

Now when he had looked up, he saw the rich ones casting their gifts into the treasury.

Then he saw a certain poor widow casting in two lepta.

And he said: Truly I say to you that this poor widow has cast in more than all of them;

for all these cast in their gifts to God out of that which was abounding to them, but she out of her poverty cast in all the livelihood that she had.

And as some were speaking about the temple, that it has been adorned with goodly stones and with consecrated gifts, he said:

As to these things which you are beholding, the days will come in which not a stone will be left upon a stone here which will not be thrown down.

Then they asked him, saying: Teacher, when then will these things be, and what will be the sign when these things are soon to take place?

And he said: Take heed lest you be led astray; for many will come in my name saying: I am he, and the appointed-time has drawn near. Therefore do not go after them.

When then you may hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for it behooves these things to take place first, but the end is not immediately.

Then he was saying to them: Nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom,

and there will be great earthquakes, and in different places famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from the skies.

But before all these things they will lay their hands upon you and will persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, leading you before kings and governors on account of my name.

Now it will result to you for a testimony.

Therefore implant in your hearts not to premeditate to present a defense;

for I myself will give you a mouth and wisdom which all those who oppose you will not be able to resist nor to reply to.

Then you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put to death some from among you.

And you will be hated by all because of my name.

But a hair of your head will certainly not perish.

By your patient endurance you will all gain your souls.

When then you may see Jerusalem being encircled by encampments, then know that her desolation has drawn near.

Then those in Judea should flee to the mountains, and those in her midst should depart out, and those in the countries should not enter into her.

For these are the days of avenging, to fill all the things which are written.

But woe to those having pregnancy in the womb and to the ones nursing in those days; for there will be great distress upon the land and wrath to this people,

and they will fall by the edge of the sword and will be led captive into all the nations, and Jerusalem will be trodden down by the nations until the times of the nations may be fulfilled.

And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the land distress of nations with perplexity at the sound of the sea and the rolling surge,

when men are fainting from fear and expectation of that which is coming on the earth; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

And then they will behold the Son of Man coming in a cloud with great power and glory.

Then when these things are beginning to come to pass, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.

And he spoke a parable to them: Behold the fig tree and all the trees.

When they may already sprout, looking on them for yourselves you know that already the summer is near.

So also you yourselves, when you may see these things coming to pass, know that the kingdom of God is near.

Amen I say to you that this generation will certainly not have passed away until all these things happen.

The skies and the earth will pass away, but my words will certainly not pass away.

Now take heed to yourselves, otherwise your hearts may be burdened with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of life, and that very day may come upon you suddenly

as a snare; for it will enter upon all those who sit upon the face of all the land.

Watch also at every season, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are soon to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.

Now during the day he was in the temple teaching, and going out in the evening he was lodging on the mount which is being called Olivet.

And all the group of people was coming early to him in the temple to hear him.
