You will not make to you idols, and an idol, and a pillar you will not raise to you, and a stone of the carved you will not put in your land, to bow down over it; for I am Yahweh your God.
You will keep my sabbaths, and you will fear my sanctuary; I am Yahweh.
If you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them,
then I will give your rains in their time, and the land will give its produce, and the trees of the field will give their fruit.
And your threshing-time will reach the grape harvest, and the grape harvest will reach the sowing; and you will eat your bread to the full, and you will dwell in security in your land.
And I will set wholeness in the land, and you will lie down with no one to terrify you; and I will make vicious animals cease from the land, and a sword will not pass through your land.
And you will run after your enemies, and they will fall before you by the sword.
And five of you will run after a hundred, and a hundred of you will run after ten thousand; and your enemies will fall before you by the sword.
And I will turn to you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will establish my covenant with you.
And you will eat the old, grown old, and you will bring out the old from before the new.
And I will set my dwelling place in your midst, and my being will not loathe you.
And I will walk about in your midst, and I will be God to you, and you will be a people to me.
I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from being slaves to them; and I broke the bars of your yoke and made you walk upright.
And if you will not listen to me, and you will not do all these commandments,
and if you reject my statutes, and if your being loathes my judgments, so as not to do all my commandments, breaking my covenant,
I too will do this to you: I will appoint over you sudden terror, the wasting disease and the fever, that exhaust the eyes and make the being pine away; and you will sow your seed for emptiness; and your enemies will eat it.
And I will set my face against you, and you will be struck down before your enemies; those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when no one is running after you.
And if even up to these things you do not listen to me, I will go on to discipline you sevenfold for your sins.
And I will break the pride of your strength; and I will make your skies like iron, and your land like bronze.
And your strength will be spent for emptiness, and your land will not give its produce, and the trees of the land will not give their fruit.
And if you walk against me in defiance, and are not willing to listen to me, I will add a blow upon you, sevenfold according to your sins.
And I will send among you the animals of the field, and they will make you childless, and cut off your livestock, and make you few; and your ways will be desolate.
And if by these things you do not let yourselves be disciplined toward me, and you walk against me in defiance,
then I too will walk against you in defiance, and I too will strike you down sevenfold for your sins.
And I will bring upon you a sword that avenges the vengeance of the covenant; and you will gather into your cities, and I will send a pestilence in your midst, and you will be given into the hand of an enemy.
When I break the staff of bread for you, ten women will bake your bread in one oven, and bring back your bread by weight; and you will eat, and you will not be satisfied.
And if in this you do not listen to me, and you walk against me in defiance,
then I will walk against you in the burning anger of defiance, and I too will discipline you sevenfold for your sins.
And you will eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters you will eat.
I will wipe out your high places, cut down your sun-pillars, and lay your carcasses on the carcasses of your idols; and my being will loathe you.
I will make your cities a ruin and devastate your sanctuaries, and I will not smell your soothing odor.
And I myself will devastate the land, and your enemies, those who dwell in it, will be appalled at it.
And you I will scatter among the nations, and I will draw out a sword after you; and your land will be a wasteland, and your cities will be ruins.
Then the land will pay off its sabbaths all the days of its desolation, while you are in the land of your enemies; then the land will cease, and it will pay off its sabbaths.
All the days of its desolation it will cease, what it did not cease in your sabbaths, when you dwelt on it.
And as for those who are left among you, I will bring terror into their heart in the land of their enemies; the sound of a driven leaf will pursue them, and they will flee as one flees from a sword, and they will fall with no one pursuing.
Each man will stumble over his brother, as from before a sword, with no one pursuing; and you will have no power to stand before your enemies.
And you will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will eat you up.
And those who are left among you will pine away in their guilt in the land of your enemies; and also in the guilt of their fathers, along with them, they will pine away.
And they will confess their guilt and the guilt of their fathers, in their unfaithfulness that they practiced against me, and also in that they walked with me in defiance —
I, too, will walk with them in defiance, and bring them into the land of their enemies. Or if then their uncircumcised heart humbles itself, and then they pay off their guilt —
Then I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham I will remember; and the land I will remember.
And the land will be left by them, and will pay off its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them; and they will pay off their guilt, because, yes, because they rejected my judgments, and their being loathed my statutes.
And even in this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor loathe them so as to make an end of them, to break my covenant with them; for I am Yahweh their God.
And I will remember for them the covenant of the former ones, whom I brought out them of the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations, to be God to them. I am Yahweh.
These are the statutes and the justices and the instructions which Yahweh set between himself and between the children of Israel, on the mountain of Sinai, by the hand of Moses.
