And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:
Speak to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them: This is the word that Yahweh has commanded, saying:
Any man of the house of Israel who slaughters an ox or a young sheep or a she-goat in the camp, or who slaughters it outside the camp,
and has not brought it to the entrance of the tent of the appointed time, to bring near a present to Yahweh, before the dwelling place of Yahweh, blood will be reckoned to that man: he has shed blood; and that man will be cut off from among his people.
so that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they are sacrificing on the face of the field, and bring them to Yahweh, to the entrance of the tent of the appointed time, to the priest, and sacrifice them as sacrifices of peace offerings to Yahweh.
And the priest will sprinkle the blood on the altar of Yahweh at the entrance of the tent of the appointed time, and turn to smoke the fat as a soothing odor to Yahweh.
And they will no longer sacrifice their sacrifices to the goat idols that they prostitute themselves after. This will be a statute forever for them, throughout their generations.
And say to them: Any man of the house of Israel, and of the sojourners who live in their midst, who offers up a burnt offering or a sacrifice,
and does not bring it to the entrance of the tent of the appointed time to offer it to Yahweh, that man will be cut off from his people.
And any man of the house of Israel, and of the sojourners who live in their midst, who eats any blood, I will set my face against the being who eats the blood, and I will cut off it from among its people.
For the being of the flesh is in the blood, and I have set it for you on the altar, to cover over your living selves; for it is the blood that covers by the being.
Therefore I said to the children of Israel: No being among you will eat blood, and the sojourner who lives in your midst will not eat blood.
And any man of the children of Israel, and of the sojourners who live in their midst, who hunts game, whether a living thing or a bird that may be eaten, will pour out its blood, and cover it with dust.
For the being of all flesh—its blood is in its being. And I said to the children of Israel: You must not eat the blood of any flesh, for the being of all flesh is its blood; everyone who eats it will be cut off.
And every being who eats a carcass or a torn animal, whether native-born or sojourner, will wash his garments, and bathe in water, and be defiled until the evening; then he will be pure.
And if he does not wash, and does not bathe his flesh, he will bear his guilt.
