And the sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, each took his fire-holder, and put fire in them, and placed incense on it, and presented strange fire before the face of Yahweh, which he had not commanded them.
And fire went out from before the face of Yahweh, and ate them, and they died before the face of Yahweh.
And Moses said to Aaron: This is what Yahweh spoke, saying: Among those near me, I will be set apart, and before the face of all the people, I will be honored. And Aaron was silent.
And Moses called to Mishael and to Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel, the uncle of Aaron, and said to them: Come near, carry your relatives away from the face of the holy place to outside the camp.
And they drew near and carried them in their tunics to outside the camp, just as Moses had spoken.
And Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons: Do not let your heads go loose, and do not tear your garments, or else you will die, and he will be angry with all the congregation; and your relatives, all the house of Israel will weep for the burning that Yahweh has burned.
And from the door of the tent of meeting you must not go out, or you will die, for the anointing oil of Yahweh is on you. And they did according to the word of Moses.
And Yahweh spoke to Aaron, saying:
Do not drink wine and strong drink, you and your sons with you, when you come into the tent of appointed meeting, so that you do not die; it is a statute forever throughout your generations.
And to separate between the holiness and the common, and between the unclean and the clean.
And to teach the children of Israel all the statutes that Yahweh has spoken to them by the hand of Moses.
And Moses spoke to Aaron, and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons who remained: Take the grain offering that remains from the fire offerings of Yahweh, and eat it as unleavened bread beside the altar, for it is a holy thing among holy things.
And you will eat it in a holy place, for it is your allotment and the allotment of your sons from the fire offerings of Yahweh; for so I have been commanded.
And the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution you will eat in a clean place, you and your sons and your daughters with you; for your allotment and the allotment of your children have been given from the sacrifices of the peace offerings of the children of Israel.
The thigh of the contribution and the breast of the wave offering they will bring on top of the fire offerings of the fats, to wave as a wave offering before the face of Yahweh; and it will be yours and your sons' with you, as an allotment forever, just as Yahweh has commanded.
And Moses diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and look, it had been burned up! And he was angry with Eleazar and with Ithamar, the sons of Aaron who remained, saying,
Why did you not eat the sin offering in the place of holiness, for it is a holy thing among holy things, and he gave it to you to bear the guilt of the congregation, to cover over them before the face of Yahweh?
Look, its blood was not brought inside, into the holy place. You should surely have eaten it in the holy place, as I commanded.
And Aaron spoke to Moses: Look, today they brought near their sin offering and their burnt offering before the face of Yahweh, and such things as these happened to me. If I had eaten a sin offering today, would it have been good in the eyes of Yahweh?
And Moses heard, and it was good in his eyes.
