¹All the congregation of the children of Israel assembled at Shiloh, and made the tent of meeting dwell there; and the land was subdued before them.

²And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes who had not divided their inheritance.

³And Joshua said to the children of Israel: How long will you show yourselves slack about going in to take possession of the land that Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has given you?

⁴Provide for yourselves three men for each tribe, and I will send them. Let them rise and walk about in the land, write it down according to their inheritance, and come back to me.

⁵They are to divide it into seven portions. Judah is to stand on its boundary on the south, and the house of Joseph is to stand on their boundary on the north.

⁶And you are to write the land in seven portions and bring it to me here; and I will cast for you a lot here before the face of Yahweh our God.

⁷For the Levites have no portion in your midst, for the priesthood of Yahweh is their inheritance; and Gad and Reuben and the half of the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance from the far side of the Jordan toward the sunrise, which Moses the slave of Yahweh gave them.

⁸And the men rose and went. Then Joshua commanded those going to write up the land, saying: Go, and walk about in the land, and write it up, and return to me; and here I will cast for you a lot before the face of Yahweh in Shiloh.

⁹And the men went and passed through the land, and wrote it up by cities in seven portions on a scroll; and they came to Joshua at the camp at Shiloh.

¹⁰And Joshua cast a lot for them in Shiloh before the face of Yahweh; and there Joshua apportioned the land to the children of Israel by their divisions.

¹¹And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up by their families; and the boundary of their lot went out between the children of Judah and between the children of Joseph.

¹²And the boundary for them on the north side was from the Jordan; the boundary went up to the shoulder of Jericho on the north, went up into the hill country toward the sea, and its extremities were at the wilderness of Beth-aven.

¹³From there the boundary passed on to Luz, to the shoulder of Luz on the south (that is Beth-el); and the boundary went down to Ataroth-addar, by the mountain that is south of Lower Beth-horon.

¹⁴The boundary turned and went round to the side of the sea, southward, from the mountain that lies facing Beth-horon on the south; and its extremities were at Kiriath-baal, that is Kiriath-jearim, a city of the children of Judah. This is the side of the sea.

¹⁵And the south side was from the end of Kiriath-jearim; the boundary went out toward the sea, and went out to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah;

¹⁶the boundary came down to the end of the mountain which is over the face of the valley of Ben-hinnom, which is in the vale of Rephaim northward; it came down the valley of Hinnom to the shoulder of the Jebusite south, came down to En-rogel;

¹⁷It turned from the north and went out to En-shemesh, went out to Geliloth, which is opposite the ascent of Adummim, and went down to the stone of Bohan, son of Reuben;

¹⁸It passed on to the shoulder opposite the desert plain on the north, and went down to the desert plain;

¹⁹The boundary passed on to the shoulder of Beth-hoglah on the north, and the extremities of the boundary were at the tongue of the Salt Sea on the north, at the end of the Jordan on the south. This is the south boundary.

²⁰And the Jordan bounds it on the side of the east. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin by its boundaries all around, according to their families.

²¹And the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin belonged to them by their families: Jericho and Beth-hoglah, and the vale of Keziz,

²²and Beth-arabah and Zemaraim and Beth-el,

²³and Avvim and Parah and Ophrah,

²⁴and Kephar-ammoni and Ophni and Geba: twelve cities and their courts.

²⁵Gibeon and Ramah and Beeroth,

²⁶and Mizpah and Kephirah and Mozah,

²⁷and Rekem and Irpeel and Taralah,

²⁸and Zela, Haeleph, and the Jebusite city, that is Jerusalem, Gibeah, Kiriath: fourteen cities and their courts. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin by their families.
