Joshua11

And when Jabin king of Hazor heard, he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Acshaph,

and to the kings who were in the north, in the hill country, in the Arabah south of Kinnereth, in the Shephelah, and on the heights of Dor toward the sea;

The Canaanite from the east side, and from the sea, and the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill country, and the Hivite below Hermon in the land of Mizpah.

They went out, they and all their camps with them, a people as numerous as the sand that is on the edge of the sea in multitude, with horses and chariotry, very many.

All these kings met by appointment; they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel.

And Yahweh said to Joshua: Do not be afraid of them, for tomorrow at about this time, I am giving over all of them, slain, before the face of Israel. You will hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.

Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them at the waters of Merom, suddenly, and they fell upon them.

Yahweh gave them into the hand of Israel, and they struck them and ran after them as far as great Sidon, and as far as Misrephoth-maim, and as far as the valley of Mizpah eastward; and they struck them until they left them no survivor.

Joshua did to them as Yahweh had said to him: he hamstrung their horses, and burned their chariots with fire.

At that time Joshua turned back, captured Hazor, and struck its king with the sword; for Hazor was formerly the head of all these kingdoms.

They struck every being who was in it with the mouth of the sword, putting them under the ban; no breathing thing was left, and Hazor he burned with fire.

Joshua captured all the cities of these kings and all their kings, struck them with the mouth of the sword, and put them under the ban, as Moses the slave of Yahweh had commanded.

Only, of all the cities standing on their mounds, Israel burned none of them except Hazor alone; that one Joshua burned.

All the plunder of these cities and the livestock the children of Israel plundered for themselves; only, they struck every human with the mouth of the sword until they had wiped them out; they left no breathing thing.

As Yahweh had commanded Moses his slave, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did; he did not remove a word from all that Yahweh had commanded Moses.

Joshua took all this land: the hill country, all the Negev, all the land of Goshen, the Shephelah, the Arabah, and the hill country of Israel with its Shephelah;

from Mount Halak, which goes up toward Seir, as far as Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon below Mount Hermon. He captured all their kings, struck them, and put them to death.

For many days Joshua made war with all these kings.

There was no city that came to friendly terms with the children of Israel, except the Hivites who dwelled in Gibeon; everything they took in battle.

For it was from Yahweh to harden their hearts, to meet Israel in war, so as to put them under the ban, so that they would have no favor, but so as to be wiped out, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

At that time Joshua came and cut off the Anakites from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, from all the hill country of Judah and from all the hill country of Israel; Joshua put them under the ban along with their cities.

No Anakites were left in the land of the children of Israel; only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod did some remain.

Joshua took all the land, according to all that Yahweh had spoken to Moses, and Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions, by their tribes; and the land was quiet from war.
