At this also my heart trembles, and leaps from its place.
Listen, listen to the raging of his voice, and the rumbling that comes out of his mouth.
Under all the skies he lets it loose, and his light to the edges of the land.
After it a sound roars; he thunders with the sound of his majesty, and he does not hold them back when his sound is heard.
God thunders wonders with his voice; he does great things, and we cannot know.
For he says to the snow, Fall on the land; and to the shower of rain, and to the showers, the rains of his might.
He seals up the hand of every person, so that all people may know his work.
The animal goes into a lair, and in its dens it settles.
From the inner chamber the whirlwind comes, and from the scattering winds the cold.
From the breath of God frost is given, and the breadth of the waters is held in constraint.
Even with moisture he loads the dark cloud; he scatters the cloud of his light.
And it turns round about by his guidance, so that they do all that he commands them over the face of the world, to the land.
Whether for a rod, or for his land, or for loyal love, he causes it to come upon them.
Give ear to this, Job; stand still and discern the wonders of God.
Do you know when God sets them in place, and makes the light of his cloud shine out?
Do you know about the balancings of the cloud, the wondrous works of the one complete in knowledge,
you whose clothes are hot when the land lies quiet from the south?
Can you hammer out the clouds with him, hard as a cast mirror?
Make known to us what we should say to him; we cannot set our case in order in the face of the darkness.
Shall it be recounted to him that I will speak? If a man said it, he would be swallowed up.
And now, people do not see the light; it is bright in the clouds, and a wind has passed by and has cleansed them.
From the north gold comes; upon God is awesome splendor.
The Almighty—we have not found him; he is great in strength, and justice and abundant righteousness he does not afflict.
Therefore people fear him; he does not see any who are wise in heart.
