Job35

And Elihu answered and said,

Do you reckon this to be justice? You said, My righteousness is more than God's.

For you say, What use is it to you? What do I profit from my sin?

I will respond to you with words, and to your friends with you.

Look at the skies and see; observe the clouds — they are higher than you.

If you have sinned, what do you do to him? And if your transgressions are many, what can you make happen to him?

If you are righteous, what do you give him? Or what does he receive from your hand?

Your wickedness is for a man like yourself, and your righteousness is for a son of man.

Under the multitude of oppressions they cry out; they cry for help from the arm of the great.

But no one says, Where is God my maker, who puts songs in the night,

Who teaches us more than the livestock of the land, and makes us wiser than the birds of the skies?

There they cry out, but he does not answer, before the pride of the wicked.

Surely God does not hear emptiness, and the Almighty does not regard it.

How much more when you say you do not observe him: the case is before him, so wait anxiously for him.

And now, because his anger has not punished, he has not recognized folly, however great.

And Job opens his mouth in vapor; without knowledge he multiplies words.
