Job27

And Job again lifted up his discourse and said:

As God lives, who has removed my justice, and the Almighty, who has made my being bitter,

for as long as my breath is in me, and the breath of God is in my nostrils,

my lips will not speak injustice, and my tongue will not utter deceit.

Far be it from me that I declare you right; until I expire I will not put aside my integrity from me.

I have kept hold of my righteousness, and I will not let it go; my heart does not reproach me for any of my days.

May my enemy be like the wicked, and the one who rises against me like the unjust.

For what is the hope of the godless when he gains, when God draws out his being?

Will God hear his cry when distress comes upon him?

Or will he delight in the Almighty? Will he call on God at all times?

I will teach you about the hand of God; what is with the Almighty I will not hide.

Behold, you, all of you, have seen it; so why this vapor, acting in vain?

This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the inheritance of the ruthless that they take from the Almighty.

If his sons multiply, it is for the sword, and his descendants will not be satisfied with food.

His survivors will be interred in death, and his widows will not weep.

If he heaps up silver like dust, and prepares clothing like clay,

he prepares it, but the righteous will wear it, and the innocent will divide up the silver.

He builds his house like the moth, and like a shelter that a watchman has made.

Rich he lies down, and is not gathered; he opens his eyes, and he is no more.

Terrors overtake him like waters; in the night a storm-wind steals him away.

The east wind lifts him up, and he goes; it whirls him away from his place.

It hurls at him and does not spare; from its hand he flees in haste.

Over him they clap their palms, and from his place they hiss at him.
